Team Australia's Will Power has earned his fourth front row starting position for the season by topping qualifying at the Mont Tremblant circuit in Quebec, Canada today. source: teamaustraliamotorsport.com Times from yesterday's opening qualifying session were not threatened as wet conditions descended on the spectacular 2.65-mile (4.26-kilometre) circuit. However, Champ Car rules dictate that the fastest driver on each day of qualifying is guaranteed a front row start, making today's session a wet-weather shootout. Power was the class of the field today in the wet in the #5 Aussie Vineyards Team Australia DP01, setting a time of 1:20.943, ahead of Justin Wilson and Sebastien Bourdais. Tristan Gommendy retains pole position as a result of finishing fastest in yesterday's dry qualifying session. Unfortunately the rain meant that Power's team-mate Simon Pagenaud was unable to improve the position of the #15 Aussie Vineyards Team Australia DP01. As a result the Frenchman will start seventh in tomorrow's sixth round of the Champ Car World Series. Earlier today Pagenaud was third and Power fifth in practice, which was held in dry conditions. WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY ... Will Power - #5 Aussie Vineyards Team Australia DP01 "I knew the last lap would be the quickest," said Power. "Every lap before that was just trying things. I just put a whole lap together at the end there. "We really needed to start on the front row this weekend because we had such a bad weekend last weekend, and also at Portland not such a good one. We're really after a win."
