Action continued today at Texas Motor Speedway for the Red Bull Cheever Racing team. The day's practice period included a 45-minute, split-field session in the middle of the afternoon, and a 30-minute session in the evening, which saw all 22 cars on the track at once.

His lap of 211.608 mph came during the evening practice session where he and Alex Barron stuck together for a majority of the period. "It got a bit better today. We did some things to free up the car and changed gears, and we got a little bit faster. The car is really good, and we're flat out all the way around. We're still missing three miles per hour, though. In the race, hopefully we'll stay out of trouble and be around at the end," Carpentier said. Barron wasn't far from Carpentier's pace when he also posted his best time of 211.413 mph. "We made some changes today, and the final warm up session was pretty good. The car is good in traffic. Its good up high and down low. We worked on pit stops during practice and the Red Bull Cheever crew is looking good, but we are still about three miles per hour off the pace. We are going to make another change before the race and hopefully that will keep us in the lead pack tomorrow. With attrition and good pit stops we could get another solid finish here in Texas," Barron said.
