The Red Bull Cheever Racing crew took a ride to the Raleigh-Durham area in
North Carolina last Friday to visit the headquarters of techie giant Cisco
Systems, Inc.
Nearly 1000 employees, who work at the Research Triangle Park offices of Cisco,
got to see pit stop demonstrations with the No. 51 crew changing tires and Alex
Barron driving the No. 51 Red Bull Cheever Racing Toyota in circles around the
parking lot.
Employees were also allowed to walk through the Mecachrome Mobile Engineering
Center to see firsthand how the Cisco routers and switches are used to support
the integrated racing electronics system and communications network used by the
engineers and crew at Red Bull Cheever Racing.
The event ended with Alex doing donuts, and leaving some rubber on the ground as
a reminder to the Cisco employees to cheer him on this season in the IndyCar
Series.
