Ready to hit the road source: redbullcheeverracing.com Alex Barron: #51 Red Bull/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone Patrick Carpentier: #83 Red Bull/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone Red Bull Cheever Racing has had considerable success this season on the IndyCar Series' road courses with neither Alex Barron nor Patrick recording below a 10th-place finish. In April, the team brought home two top 10s at St. Petersburg with Carpentier coming in eighth and Barron 10th. Last month at Infineon Raceway, the team had its best cumulative result of the season, recording two top-five finishes. This time, Barron led the way with a third-place finish and Carpentier came in fourth. The team participated in the league's open test at Watkins Glen in June and is coming off of a Toyota test there last week where it improved upon its earlier efforts. Barron is one of the few drivers in the league who has experience racing at Watkins Glen International Raceway. In 1996, he competed at the historic track in the Formula 2000 series. The team's take on Watkins Glen International Raceway "This is one of the most complex tracks we run in terms of driver challenge and chassis setup. Because of these challenges, I think it will definitely be to our advantage that we have had more time testing than some of the other teams. A lot of places on the track need to be learned over time. Plus, anytime you can get out and test this close to the race, it really helps. The track is faster than many people thought it was going to be, but I think it's going to be difficult to pass in a lot of places. So, restarts and clean pit stops are going to be key. - Alex Barron "This is one of the nicest tracks I've ever been on, but I'm definitely still learning it. The chicane and carousel turns are tricky. It's a high-speed track with banking that helps sustain momentum. The race should be a fun one, with passing on the uphill backstretch. It's long and with drafting, it'll lead to some passing or a chance to take advantage of those making mistakes. We were pretty happy with what we were able to accomplish last week at the test, but I think we can definitely still improve." - Patrick Carpentier Second half rebound Red Bull Cheever Racing has been among the top teams in the league during the second half of the season, placing in the top 10 eight times in the 10 races since Indianapolis, including five top fives.
