Wilson fourth, Tagliani eighth in provisional qualifying source: rocketsportsracing.com RSPORTS round out the top eight in their first day at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant but they are in search of more balance as they prepare for final qualifying tomorrow. On a beautiful day in the picturesque Laurentians, the RSPORTS Champ Cars rolled out for their first on-track session to kick-off the weekend's racing excitement leading to Sunday's Champ Car Grand Prix of Mont-Tremblant. During the morning practice session Justin Wilson drove his #9 CDW Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone to set the fourth quickest time, a 1:17.809 (121.266 mph). Wilson was satisfied with his opening session, but was hoping to find more out of the #9 CDW car for this afternoon's provisional qualifying. Tagliani returned to his native land to race in Quebec this weekend; however things did not go as well for the French-Canadian as he hoped. Experiencing a fuel pick-up issue which cost him valuable time, he was only able to post a lap of 1:18.128 (120.771 mph), which was the 11th quickest of the session. This afternoon saw the first round of qualifying for Sunday's main event. It was eventful afternoon as the top five drivers were only separated by 0.074 seconds, equivalent to less then a car length around the challenging 2.6-mile circuit. Wilson improved his time from the morning session, posting a 1:16.843 (122.791 mph) during his first stint on the harder (Black) Bridgestone Potenza tires. He changed to the Bridgestone Potenza Reds for his second run, but found out like the rest of the field that he was unable to improve his time on the softer tires this afternoon. Despite the loss of time with his problems during the morning, Tagliani did improve during the qualifying session with a best time of 1:17.256 (122.134 mph), but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to be on top of the chart. Tagliani also changed to the softer Bridgestone Potenza Reds and the end of the session, but was unable to beat his time posted during his first run. The French-Canadian driver is hoping to find some solutions for tomorrow's qualifying and get a better starting position for Sunday's race. There will be another practice session tomorrow morning followed by final qualifying for the Champ Car Grand Prix of Mont-Tremblant at 2:00 p.m. ET. The green flag for Sunday's race will drop at 2:00 p.m. The race can be seen live on ESPN with coverage beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET. Fans can also follow the RSPORTS team on the internet by logging onto www.champcar.ws and signing up for Race Director.
