''Thrilled to be racing a 750bhp turbo-charged Champ Car in 2007'': Dalziel source: paddocktalk.com Scotland's Ryan Dalziel is preparing himself for a return to top-flight open-wheel racing in 2007 following Pacific Coast Motorsports decision to step-up to the Champ Car World Series next season with the Lanarkshire racer and America's Alex Figge forming the team's two-car driver line-up. Dalziel (24) has spent the past two seasons with California-based Pacific Coast Motorsports competing in North American sports car racing, campaigning a Corvette C5-R in the 2005 American Le Mans Series and a Pontiac Riley Daytona Prototype in this season's Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series which concluded at Miller Motorsports Park at the weekend - coinciding with the team's announcement regarding their plans for 2007 and a move into the 'Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford'. Thrilled to be racing a 750bhp turbo-charged Champ Car in 2007 Dalziel remarked: "Firstly I have to thank Pacific Coast Motorsports for giving me such a great opportunity to get back into open-wheel racing and in particular the Champ Car World Series. Champ Car was always my goal and my passion when I started racing in America so to be given the chance to compete there full-time is just fantastic. "I'm delighted that we're all moving up together as a team as I've loved racing for Pacific Coast Motorsports over the past couple of seasons. The timing's right for moving into Champ Car with the new Panoz chassis being introduced for 2007 and it's always been a goal for the likes of Team Director Tyler Tadevic and Alex Figge to move there as well. Alex and I are great friends off-track and we've worked well as team-mates co-driving in sports cars. I'm looking forward to teaming up with him again next season in Champ Car and helping the team put a solid rookie effort together."
