Ryan Hunter-Reay to return to Champ Car ? source: paddocktalk.com - rumors Sometimes racing has short memories. Anyone remember Ryan Hunter-Reay ? That American kid that raced for the defunct American Spirit (2003) fathered by Stephen Johansson, then raced for HVM (2004), and then Rocketsports (2005) before being shown the door after the Las Vegas round last season. Still don't recall ? He was rumored to be talking to Forsythe Racing in Mexico City ? OK... Still having trouble.. How about a few accomplishments... * - First American Rookie in over a decade to earn a Podium (Mid-Ohio 2003) * - First American Rookie in over 20 years to Win a Champ Car Race (Surfers Paradise, Australia 2003) * - Holds the record for the most laps lead (250) in a single race (Milwaukee 2004). * - Second youngest driver to ever Win a Street Race, youngest American to ever Win an Oval Race Yes. That's right... THAT Ryan Hunter-Reay. Forum rumors turned into a possiblity on Wind Tunnel when Robin Miller suggested that Hunter-Reay may turn up at Coyne Racing to replace Cristiano da Matta. The PaddockTalk Perspective: As for the fate of Mario Dominguez, he's likely to show up in a one-off for Mexico City. Could be PKV, could be Team Australia, could be just about anywhere else. And if he has good sponsorship backing, he might even be a good fit for CTE/HVM or Rocketsports later this season, or next year.
