In addition, there will be VIP pit lane walks and, in an on-going effort to enhance the on- and off-track fan experience, a significant increase in the number of pedestrian track crossings, which are generously spaced between on-track activities to facilitate spectator movement around the circuit. The San José Grand Prix weekend will be highlighted by the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series race, set for Sunday, July 30 at 12:45 p.m. In addition, there will be a Champ Car Atlantic Championship race, two Formula BMW contests, three Historic Stock Cars events including a Canary Foundation Fundraising Race and four Formula Drift pro demos, thus providing a full and exciting weekend of racing for northern California race fans. The on-track action kicks off Friday, July 28, with practice sessions for all four series contesting races over the weekend beginning with the Formula BMW cars at 8:00 a.m. That will be followed by an Atlantic practice at 9:15 a.m. The Champ Car drivers will make their first on-track appearance at 10:15 a.m. with a 75-minute practice, which will be followed by a Historic Stock Car practice at 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon will be highlighted by four qualifying sessions beginning with Atlantic qualifying at 1:15 p.m., followed by the Champ Cars at 2:00 p.m., Formula BMW at 4:45 p.m. (for BMW race #1) and Historic Stock Cars at 5:30 p.m. Friday's schedule will also include the first Formula Drift pro demo (4:00 - 4:30 p.m.), pace car on-track activities, two VIP Pit Walks and a Champ Car Fan Appreciation All-Driver autograph session, which is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
