source: CART.com ELKHART LAKE, Wis.--Alex Tagliani set the fastest time to pace the Saturday morning practice session for Sunday's Grand Prix at Road America Featuring the Motorola 220. The race is Round 12 of the 2002 CART FedEx Championship Series. Driving the Player's/Indeck Ford-Cosworth/Reynard, Tagliani toured the 4.048-mile Road America circuit with a top time of 1:43.311, good for an average speed of 141.058 miles per hour. Thanks to an early morning shower, the track was damp for most of the session, resulting in speeds slower than those recorded Friday. Defending race winner Bruno Junqueira was second fastest in the Target Toyota/Lola and teammate Kenny Brack was third. Junqueira, who was second fastest in provisional qualifying, had a top time of 1:43.919 (140.232 mph). Brack, who was quickest in the Friday morning practice session, had a top time of 1:43.991 (140.135 mph). Rounding out the top five were Tora Takagi at 1:44.033 (140.079 mph) in the Pioneer/Denso Special Toyota/Reynard and Shinji Nakano at 1:44.066 (140.034 mph) in the Alpine/Mitsuba Honda/Lola. Other top-10 runners in the session were Adrian Fernandez in the Tecate/Quaker State/Telmex Honda/Lola, Scott Dixon in the Target Toyota/Lola, points leader and provisional polesitter Cristiano da Matta in the Havoline Toyota/Lola, Oriol Servia in the Visteon Toyota/Reynard and Tony Kanaan in the Pioneer/WorldCom Honda/Lola.
