Like Newman/Haas, and a couple of other teams... the desire to be the next full season three-car Champ Car team is on Team Australia's mind. source: paddocktalk.com - rumors But, the hurdle continues to be finding the funding. According to a report in Autosport, Team Australia indicated that they had approached Australian Ryan Briscoe before eventually signing Will Power to a three-year deal. But Briscoe's strong recent test with PKV Racing at Sebring, and his strong desire to race in Champ Cars has the team's attention. Team Australia co-owner's Derrick Walker & Craig Gore have talked about the idea. Walker told the publication, "I'd love to run a third car, we've proved we can do it and I've had discussions with Craig about that, but we'd have to find some new money." The PaddockTalk Perspective: The team owners are ready to grow Champ Car, but the primary issue is funding. Team Australia ended the 2005 season as a three-car team.... The question is... Will it start 2006 the same way ? We shall see.
