There's no time to rest after last weekend's Assen race for winner Justin Wilson of RuSPORT and Australian Will Power of Team Australia. source: champcar.ws Less than 24 hours after the checkered flag flew over the Bavaria Beer Champ Car Grand Prix of Holland, Wilson and Power were aboard a plane heading to Australia to participate in media activities leading up to the launch of the Lexmark Indy 300. Hometown favorite Power and Brit Wilson had no time for jet lag but plenty for a friendly game of cricket with students from the Surfers Paradise State School yesterday. Following the Australia versus England match up, the drivers took time to meet and sign autographs for the students who will be participating in their own way in this years' Lexmark Indy 300. The students will participate in the traditional Banana Boat Student's Day on Thursday of race week. "Coming off such a great result in Holland, you couldn't ask for a better venue for post race celebrations than here in Queensland, Australia," said Wilson whose win in Assen was his first of the season and fourth of his career. Wilson and Toowoomba-native Power also hit the airwaves in Brisbane before spending time at the Queensland Raceway where Power got to relive his evolution in international motorsports. They also enjoyed a media lunch at the driving school. The pair will continue their media activities by shooting some hoops with the Gold Coast Blaze basketball team before taking part in the launch event at the Circle on Cavill, where live entertainment will be provided to fans throughout the evening. Both drivers will then take their leave and head their separate ways before returning to Australia in October for the main event with one goal in mind. "For the Team Australia/Aussie Vineyards team, this is the one we have been waiting for, but more importantly, I want to win in Australia for all the supporters who have backed me through my career," Power said. "Last year it was awesome to take pole position but after the race it was so disappointing to have come away empty handed when we knew we could have won. There's unfinished business and we're coming here with one goal and that's to win." The Lexmark Indy 300 takes place October 18 - 21 on the streets of Surfers Paradise.
