Ask Rocketsports Racing's race engineer Andrew Borme where he's from and you'll get a quick lesson in world geography. FEATURE at CART.com by David Phillips "When people ask me where I'm from, I used to say, 'Nowhere,' " he said. "Now I say I'm from Everywhere. "I was born in Italy, in Brescia--home of the Mille Miglia. We lived there until I was four or five, then we moved to England and lived in Maidstone, Kent, for a year. Then we moved to Hamilton, Ontario (Canada), for two years; then Houston for a year; then Michigan; then back to Houston and Dallas, which is the place I stayed longest in the States. I sort of grew up and went to high school in Dallas, went to college in New York at RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy), then moved to Southern California to work at Nissan Performance Technology (NPTI), then moved to Indianapolis in '94 to work with Kingsports. Ohio was next, with Rahal, then Tasman Motorsports and then St. Louis after that (with Hogan Racing) and then to Indy." By joining Lansing, Michigan-based Rocketsports Racing, the well-traveled Borme gets to add another location to his litany of addresses, even if this one is only part-time. Although he spent much of January in Lansing getting acquainted with his new team and teammates, Borme fully intends to retain his full-time residence in Indianapolis. The only question is how much time he'll get to spend back home in Indianapolis once the racing season begins in earnest.
