Penske Racing has filed a three car entry for the 89th running of the
Indianapolis 500 on May 29.
The team, which has won the race a record 13 times, will field cars for regular
drivers Helio Castroneves and Sam Hornish Jr, with the third driver yet to be
named.
Castroneves will be attempting to make his fifth career Indianapolis 500 start
in the #3 Marlboro Team Penske Dallara-Toyota with an identical backup car
entered.
The Brazilian started his Indy 500 career with victories in 2001 and 2002, and
won the MBNA Pole and finished second to Penske teammate Gil de Ferran in 2003.
It was the best three-race start of a driver's career in Indianapolis 500
history.
Hornish will be looking to make his sixth Indianapolis 500 start in the #6
Marlboro Team Penske Dallara-Toyota, with the two-time IndyCar Series champion
looking to build on a career-best Indy finish of 14th back in 2001.
No driver, chassis, engine or tyre was designated on the third Penske entry.
