The Champ Car World Series today tabbed veteran team manager Tony Cotman
to lead the Champ Car Operations Department

Cotman takes over as Vice President of Operations after serving most recently
as Team Manager at Andretti Green Racing. In the past two years, Cotman was
instrumental in leading the team to 10 race wins and the 2004 Indy Racing League
Championship.
"I'm very excited to join the Champ Car staff," said Cotman, a native of New
Zealand. "I'm looking forward to being part of the team at Champ Car that
continues to build the series into a success. I truly believe that the Champ Car
World Series is some of the best racing not only in America but worldwide."
Cotman will oversee the Operations Department which includes Trans-Am Executive
Director John Clagett, Toyota Atlantic Managing Director Vicki O'Connor,
Operations Director John Anderson, Logistics Director Billy Kamphausen, Safety
Director Lon Bromley and Medical Director Dr. Chris Pinderski.
"I firmly believe that Tony is well equipped to provide Champ Car with the
experience, energy and knowledge necessary to achieve the goals of our
Operations Department," said Champ Car President Dick Eidswick. "I am very
excited knowing that Tony will be part of our team as we continue to build Champ
Car."
The Champ Car World Series features some of the greatest race car drivers in the
world competing in the most diverse and exciting series in the world. Champions
Sebastien Bourdais, Jimmy Vasser and Canadian Paul Tracy along with 2004
Roshfrans Rookie of the Year A. J. Allmendinger, Bruno Junqueira and Alex
Tagliani are among the drivers who battle for the Vanderbilt Cup, which is
awarded to the winner of the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series
Powered by Ford. The title is contested on oval circuits, temporary street
circuits and permanent road courses.
