Once a month, Paul Tracy, does a special to The Toronto Star newspaper source: champweb.net This month Tracy talks about the next race on The Champ Car World Series' schedule, Laguna Seca on September 12th, 2004. "Now that Gerry Forsythe and I are close to signing a contract for me to race for his team again in 2005, I can focus my attention on what's right around the corner -- Laguna Seca in California next weekend and Las Vegas two weeks later. With four races left on the schedule, there's still plenty of work to be done this season -- and several opportunities for me to improve my third-place standing in the drivers' championship. At Laguna Seca, I'll try to break my 10-year winless streak, while at Las Vegas I'll attempt to take the checkered flag at a track I've never raced on before. One of the main challenges at Laguna Seca is that the track is one of the series' most physically demanding on drivers." I found this editorial by the reigning Champ Car champion to be very informative. Tracy gets down to business talking about the many challenges he has faced at Laguna Seca in the years gone by, including aerodynamic and engineering challenges. Enjoy.
