Dan Wheldon, fresh off his victory in the 89th running of the Indianapolis 500 last weekend, will appear on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday night, June 6. Joining him on the Late Show will be Cedric The Entertainer and musical group, Black Eyed Peas. Check local listings for air times in your market. Since taking the checkered flag at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 29, Wheldon has been on a whirlwind four-day media tour which took him to New York City, Bristol, Conn., Richmond, Va., Kansas City, Mo., and Ft. Worth, Texas. While in New York, Wheldon appeared on the "Regis & Kelly Show", "CNN's American Morning," and also threw out the first pitch at the New York Mets game on June 1. After a media luncheon in the Big Apple with numerous national media in attendance, he then traveled to ESPN headquarters in Bristol to tape segments for ESPN SportsCenter, ESPN News and ESPN International. While in Richmond, Kansas City and Ft. Worth, Wheldon sat down with local media to talk about his Indy 500 win and highlight the next three races on the Indy Racing League's calendar. The next IndyCar Series race will be under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 11. ESPN will carry the race live beginning at 8:30 p.m. Eastern.
