Mi-Jack Conquest Racing's Charles Zwolsman did a rain dance in pit lane before the start of the qualifying session and it worked. source: conquestracing.com After posting the second fastest time in Friday's provisional qualifying session, Zwolsman was hoping that the track would be wet during the final round of qualifying so that he could maintain his second spot on the grid. The rain came at the right time but with Sebastien Bourdais securing a front row starting spot by posting today's fastest lap time, Zwolsman was relegated to third on the gird, his best starting position in his young Champ Car career and the team's best qualifying performance this season. Unlike his teammate, Andrew Ranger was hoping for a dry session in order for him to move up a few positions on the grid, but he never had a chance to go out on a dry track during qualifying and he will be starting the race in ninth. The green flag drops on round 12 of the Champ Car World Series at 2:00 p.m. eastern tomorrow. 3rd- Charles Zwolsman "It feels great to start third. Yesterday I was happy, but I was a bit disappointed because I didn't have the pole and I knew that if it dried up today, I'd lose the spot. So, now I'm really happy because it's final and I'm starting in third. I'm really looking forward to that. (About the start of the race) At the start, you always have to anticipate what happens there. You have a million of preparations in your head for every scenario. Out there you just got to go with what feels right, just see what happens." 9th- Andrew Ranger "I did my first laps at Road America in the dry this morning and we worked on the set-up of the car but ended the session not really where we wanted to be. Going into qualifying this afternoon we were going to try something to improve the car but the rain came and we knew at that point that it was useless to go out because we would not improve our times. As for tomorrow, we will have to see the weather conditions. No matter what, it will be important to stay on track and finish the race to move back up in the points."
