Compact Car: 2021 Hyundai Elantra
The Elantra isn’t all-new, but it might as well be as Hyundai gave it a thorough going-over for the new model-year. Not everyone is in love with the looks of the thing, but it’s getting rave reviews for its near-sporty behaviour, roomy and upscale interior and more. KBB gave it the title this year ahead of the Civic, last year’s champ and perennial favourite in the segment, particularly in Canada.
So far, that makes two-for-two for the Hyundai-Kia giant out of South Korea.
What KBB liked:
- Overall quality and refinement
- Stronger chassis
- Its coupe-like shape
- Low price point for what you get
- Fuel-efficiency (from all four versions)
- Sharp-looking N-Line variant
- Tons of standard stuff
- Taut on-road handling
