Mitsubishi makes history by supplying mass produced all electric cars

VANCOUVER, B.C. - Mitsubishi Motors Sales of Canada Inc. (MMSCAN), British Columbia and the City of Vancouver made history today when three mass-produced, all-electric, zero-emission Mitsubishi i-MiEV passenger cars were presented to the City of Vancouver and BC Hydro. These three vehicles represent the fulfillment of a promise made by MMSCAN to the Government of British Columbia, BC Hydro and the City of Vancouver on April 6, 2009, with respect to providing i-MiEV cars for testing and evaluation.

Quebec Rally: Champions win triple crown

Champions of the 2009 Quebec Rally Championship Simon Dubé and Pat Lavigne won Saturday the triple crown at the series first outing in Charlevoix since 2002. Dubé and Lavigne finished 21 seconds before Bruno Carré and Yvan Joyal in overall standing but in front of Éric Courchesne and Frédérick Prigge in the Jon Nichols Cup. Daniel Gauthier and Daniel Pilote completed the podium in this class.

In a rain-shortened race, DJ Kennington won the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series finale, the Z-Line Designs 250, at the Kawartha Speedway confirming also Andrew Ranger's 2009 title. The race, which was supposed to be run on Saturday night, was postponed to Sunday because of the persistent rain and things were not looking good in the morning as rain was still present.

MISSISSAUGA, ON, - The majority of Ontario drivers feel the new Ontario legislation banning the use of hand-held devices to talk, text or email while driving doesn't go far enough, according to a recent RBC Insurance/Ipsos Reid survey. With the new law scheduled to come into effect this fall, more than half (58 per cent) of Ontario drivers agree that hands-free devices are just as dangerous as hand-held devices and should be included in the new law. Sixty nine per cent believe the Ontario government should also ban drivers from eating while they drive.
