2012 Lexus IS 350 AWD Review
Monday, May 14, 2012
When Lexus launched the first IS in 2001, they thought they were stepping up to the plate for a sacrifice bunt. The bases were loaded with the LS, ES and RX and instead of only one run coming in, the IS hit a grand slam, for the company's image.

2012 Infiniti FX35 Limited Edition Review
Monday, April 09, 2012
Infiniti's FX crossover makes a statement, a very bold statement. These vehicles aren't for those wishing to pass through life less noticed. However, if visual drama's your thing and performance-oriented crossovers your preferred transport, the 2012 FX35 Limited Edition is your ride.

2013 Infiniti JX First Impressions
Tuesday, April 03, 2012
According to Infiniti's marketing personnel, your writer isn't in the target demographic for their upcoming JX35 crossover. Mostly, that's because I'm not an affluent, somewhat wealthy mother of more than two kids seeking versatility, confidence and safety from a vehicle.

2013 Lexus GS 350 First Impressions
Monday, February 27, 2012
In their quest to have the new 2013 Lexus GS 350 sedan inextricably linked with all that's sublime and passionate, the company couldn't have chosen a better setting for its launch than a drive along the Monterey coastline ending in an exhilarating afternoon at Laguna Seca Raceway.

Mazda plans to fully integrate its SKYACTIV technologies -- a collection of highly efficient engines, transmissions and platforms -- into its lineup over the next couple of years; the first of them, an engine and transmission, is leading the charge in the 2012 Mazda3.

Learning Laguna Seca
Friday, February 10, 2012
"Left! Stay left! More Left! No, no, WAY more left! Ohhh boy!" Jim Davis, a BMW performance driving instructor, was in my passenger seat. We were in a borrowed 2012 BMW 335i approaching the infamous corkscrew at Laguna Seca. Jim had been around it a million times. It was my first time.

2012 BMW 3 Series Sedan First Impressions
Monday, February 06, 2012
The 3 Series is BMW's most important model. Not just because it's their bestselling line by a considerable margin, but because it's the car that best represents the brand throughout its existence.

2012 BMW 3 Series Sedan: diesel is out, hybrid is in
Friday, February 03, 2012
This will probably make diesel-engine lovers cringe, but BMW will retire the 335d from its lineup in 2012. Its 425 lb-ft of torque will be missed. On the other hand, the 2012 3 Series Sedan will host much more fuel-efficient engines, negating the true need for a diesel powertrain.

2012 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SV Review
Monday, January 30, 2012
A few years back, I attended the launch of the latest generation Nissan Maxima. It entered the automotive world completely new for 2009, and not a lot has changed since then. I'm pleased to again have the Maxima in-hand. For 2012, the car receives a couple of subtle styling changes and some new interior trim. In reality though, it's the same vehicle as last year -- but that's not a bad thing by any stretch of tarmac.

2012 Infiniti M35h Review (video)
Thursday, January 05, 2012
To sell a luxury hybrid, it's preferable to offer one that doesn't force the customer to make sacrifices. After all, that's why people buy luxury cars, right? It's safe to say that very few people buy luxury hybrids for their sheer greenness; in my humble opinion, they'll buy them if there's added performance, added features and less stops at the dirty gas station.

2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 First Impressions
Friday, December 16, 2011
At this year's Automotive Journalists' Association of Canada TestFest, I had an adrenaline-dosed spate behind the wheel of the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8. On the closed track, the big sedan delivered brute force, while on public roads it settled down and regained its luxury-car civility.

2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited Review
Wednesday, November 30, 2011
The fourth and current-generation Outback debuted for model year 2010. It still uses the same "wagon with cheese" recipe it originally debuted with back in 1995, when it famously showed the world just how useful could be a wagon, if you simply gave it all-wheel drive and some decent ground clearance.

2011 Audi S5 Cabriolet 3.0 TFSI quattro Premium Review
Sunday, November 27, 2011
I just spent last week in the Audi S5 Coupe and fell in love. The only thing that could make the car better, in my opinion, is to have a topless option. My dreams have almost come true this week; I say almost because even though the basic shape, styling and badging are similar, Audi did more than just make the coupe a convertible.

2011 Chrysler 300C AWD Review
Tuesday, November 15, 2011
The Chrysler 300 caused quite a stir when it was reintroduced for the 2005 model year. Wearing jaw-dropping sheet metal, the 300 pretty much carried the Chrysler division on its shoulders as the most interesting product in their lineup.

2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Review
Tuesday, September 20, 2011
I don't recall ever driving a car from a Korean manufacturer that's had as much character and testosterone as the Genesis Coupe - particularly with the V6. Comparisons with the Ford Mustang are inevitable, and while Hyundai didn't quite nail it this sports car is no less impressive.

2011 Lexus ES 350 Review
Sunday, October 23, 2011
More and more carmakers feel the necessity to combine sportiness with luxury. BMW does it. Infiniti does it. Mercedes-Benz does it. Hell, even Hyundai does it with their 2012 Genesis sedan. And Lexus does it - at least with its IS and GS sedans.

2012 Audi A6 First Impressions
Friday, September 30, 2011
Audi is a company which often baffles me. Typically, each model update brings a noticeable increase in vehicle size, at least with regards to the A4, so I'd kind of expected the same to happen with the arrival of the new A6.

A V8 before it's too late?
Saturday, September 24, 2011
I consider myself very lucky. Not only because I'm doing the job I've dreamt of before I sported pimples, but because right now, I have the opportunity to drive both mega-horse, combustion-engined sports and luxury cars as well as environmentally-friendly EVs. And I love both. But these two might not coexist for long.

2011 Nissan Quest 3.5 LE Review
Sunday, September 11, 2011
Perseverance is a quality that many car manufacturers encompass, especially those who build and sell minivans. Spacious, practical yet unloved and ridiculed, the minivan also has a name that betrays almost all of them (save for the Mazda5). After all, they aren't exactly "mini" anymore.

2011 Mazda3 GX Review
Wednesday, September 14, 2011
Every time I'm at a party or any kind of get-together with friends or family, I'm inevitably asked a bunch of car-related questions. After all, if someone you know is a doctor, wouldn't you always be asking him or her for free medical advice instead of wasting a day at the clinic?

Tuesday, August 23, 2011
The Infiniti G37 sedan comes from the same gene pool as the 370Z. You can get it with a manual transmission. It's rear-wheel drive. It handles. Heck, it's even got the same engine.

2011 Nissan NISMO 370Z Review
Thursday, July 14, 2011
What better way to vent your road rage than by doing a few hot laps around a racetrack? It's a safe, controlled environment that won't get you or others into trouble, and a hobby that's more amusing (albeit more expensive) than collecting stamps.

2011 Lexus IS 350 AWD Review
Sunday, June 19, 2011
The "Relentless Pursuit of Perfection" that Lexus uses for a slogan should be adopted by road repair crews all over Canada. I found one rather large and deep pothole that, when I hit it, destroyed the tire on the car. As for being a hero and changing the tire yourself, just call the toll-free line for roadside service and save yourself a few hours of aggravation.

2011 Lexus GS 350 AWD Review
Wednesday, June 15, 2011
With the amount of gravel and debris on our roads this spring, the AWD system in the GS kept wheel spin to a minimum and me on track. When I went out to play boy-racer on some of our dirtier interchanges, the AWD system along with traction control helped me stay on my chosen line regardless of how much fine sand was left on the road.

2011 Nissan NISMO 370Z Review
Monday, June 13, 2011
As a woman I tend to be a very visual creature. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate what's under the hood of a car, but what really gets my heart going (especially in the beginning) is how a car can really grab my attention, and keep it. The 2011 NISMO 370Z is one of those cars. It's one aggressive-looking automobile that gets just as many looks from the ladies as the guys.

BMW Concept 328 Hommage
Wednesday, June 01, 2011
Not to blow anyone's mind with a radical piece of news or anything, but the BMW 328i we see on the road today is a whole lot different than the original BMW 328 that was launched in the 1930s. Originally a race car that stood for dynamics, aesthetics and innovation, it's been some 75 years since the 328 set the still-unbeaten "highest average speed" record on the Mille Miglia circuit.

2011 Lexus RX 350 Review
Friday, June 03, 2011
These are stressful times. Severely taxing even. If cancer rates, gas prices and unrest in many parts of the world weren't enough, according to some scriptures, we just made it through the "End of the world" at the end of last May. Let's not start on December 2012...

Alrighty, gearheads. You've been following the news and studying the latest upcoming hardware slated for release by the automotive industry in the coming months. You've been reading up on the latest new technological advances and the models they're bolted to. 2011 Lexus IS 350 AWD Review (video)
Wednesday, May 25, 2011
Want a premium sedan? Not interested in undue attention from aspiring rappers? Be sure to jot 'Lexus IS' down on your 'To-Test-Drive' list. Unlike many competitors, Lexus's smallest non-hybrid sedan plays the 'modest' card where visuals are concerned--skipping the chrome, huge wheels, and child-eating grille in favour of a look that doesn't scream for attention.

2011 Infiniti EX35 Review
Friday, May 13, 2011
When Infiniti launched the EX a couple of years ago, they couldn't have chosen a better time. Premium-brand sales are on the rise, crossovers are trendy, and everyone's a sucker for horsepower. Bringing it all together is a no-brainer.

2011 Audi Q7 3.0 TSFI quattro Sport S-Line Review

2011 Lexus IS 350 AWD Review
Saturday, April 02, 2011
Lexus is known for many things. Building sporty cars is not one of them. You can enjoy your time behind the wheel, but the emphasis is usually put on comfort and luxury. With that in mind, driving the 2011 Lexus IS 350 AWD proved a lot more interesting than I initially expected.

2011 Infiniti G37x AWD Sport Review
Tuesday, April 05, 2011
Not so long ago, buying a Lexus, Infiniti or Acura meant making do with less. While this is still true for Honda's luxury division and, to a lesser extent, Toyota's, sliding behind the wheel of an Infiniti no longer carries a feeling of inferiority.

2010 Mazda3 GT Review
Saturday, November 06, 2010
The Mazda3 has been one of Canada's best-selling compact cars since its original debut, although it has never dominated the segment (the Honda Civic has). Still, the little Japanese keeps impressing the media and customers alike on many levels.

BMW's current 3 Series has been, without a doubt, the greatest, most critically-acclaimed car in their history. You don't mess with success, so the next-generation model, which should at least appear in sedan form as a 2012, will have to be damn good.
