2011 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition Review
Sunday, June 12, 2011
We used to appreciate trucks for their brutish masculine appearance and off-road talents. Yet somehow, the auto industry has been cross-breeding cars and SUVs to create--you guessed it--crossovers, which aren't as rugged-looking, and not as capable in the trails.

2010 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 Trail Edition Review (video)
Wednesday, August 18, 2010
The latest Toyota truck or SUV model is a huge deal in this writer's Northern Ontario locale and thousands like it-- especially when the model in question is one as connected to the enthusiast community as the 4Runner.

2010 Toyota 4Runner Limited Review
Friday, February 05, 2010
There it is, just sitting there, quiet, smug but with impressive potential and a stance that gives onlookers a hint at what this behemoth is capable of. The 2010 4Runner has roots that run deep in the off-road and overland explorer's history. I'll venture a guess that if you are reading this review, you know what a Land Cruiser is, what it can do and what it has done. There are clear and present family ties between the two.

2003-2009 Toyota 4-Runner Pre-Owned
Saturday, January 30, 2010
The last generation Toyota 4-Runner was a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) built with an appetite for towing, real off-road capability and plenty of all-season confidence. It was available with 6 or 8 cylinder power, plenty of options, a high-class cabin and an entire aftermarket's worth of parts for customization.

2009 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 Review
Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Sport utility vehicles are concentrating more on more the word "utility" than the word "sport" these days. In fact, most SUVs are now derived from cars to which a bigger body has simply been added, in the interest of increasing available space.

2010 Toyota 4Runner First Impressions

"More stuff to break". Though most rest assured that reliability has advanced with technology, the above remains a common statement from off-road fanatics learning about the latest driver-assist electronics.

BARRIE, ON, - In 1984, Toyota's revolutionary first Toyota 4Runner sport utility vehicle (SUV) was launched, based on the mechanics of the four-wheel-drive Toyota pickup truck, combined with the versatility and go-anywhere ability with comfort and utility. 2008 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 Road Test
Friday, January 04, 2008
You could be excused for questioning whether the photos depict a 2008 4Runner or a 2003 model. Very little has changed, other than the availability of V8 power and third row seating, since 2003 when the latest generation of Toyota's highly capable sport utility was introduced.

2006 Toyota 4Runner V8 4WD Limited Road Test
Saturday, April 22, 2006
I should warn you ahead of time that this review may not be up to my usual standard of wit and repartee. For some reason, Toyotas simply bring out the adult in me, the critic who evaluates a car from all angles, its functionality, its value, its merit and position in the marketplace, as well as the many conveniences and advantages each model may pose. This kind of analysis serves the 4Runner well, I believe, because it withstood such scrutiny and came out shining.

2004 Toyota 4Runner Road Test
Saturday, March 27, 2004
The long favored Toyota 4Runner, first introduced in 1985, was one of the original vehicles to be labeled an SUV. Now in its fourth generation, the 4Runner has evolved from its highly capable off-road roots to a 4x4 as comfortable in formal wear as it is in denim.

2003 Toyota 4Runner Limited Road Test
Saturday, March 08, 2003
What a difference a model year makes. Toyota's 4Runner has made a quantum leap from one of the most dated in its class to what just might be the category leader. Sure there will be pundits that say the Japanese automaker had a lot of time to get it right, but at the rapid rate the midsize SUV sector moves upstream the more time taken just means the farther behind it's possible to fall.

Gone is the dash-mounted flower vase in the latest version of Volkswagen's Bug. Gone too is much of its cutesiness, replaced by a notable degree of sportiness intended to broaden the Beetle's target market by attracting male attention.
