2012 Acura MDX SH-AWD Review
Tuesday, January 31, 2012
Premium crossover SUVs like the Acura MDX are big business. Virtually every automaker builds a machine like this one to sell to Canadians looking to blast through Mother Nature's frigid wintry depths, or escape in the lap of luxury to the cottage for a weekend.

VIDEO: Acura NSX Concept at Detroit Auto Show
Monday, January 23, 2012
NSX. Here are three letters that conjure up light-weight and high-performance. Acura repeatedly tried to revive the supercar over the last half-decade but every time had to back off. This time around, the essence of the NSX has been retained in this concept, with the added bonus of AWD.

The Acura conundrum
Friday, January 20, 2012
I've not been kind to Acura over the last three years. Today, I was redeemed. As this week is Montreal Auto Show (http://www.auto123.com/en/news/2012-montreal-auto-show-a-lot-to-see-this-year?artid=139581) week, the Honda/Acura people decided to set up a lunch with a handful of auto journalists to talk about the brand.

Car and trucks expected to pass in 2012-2013
Wednesday, January 04, 2012
We love to speculate as much as the next guy sitting in some fancy office on Wall Street. The big difference is that we tend to have a better idea of what we are doing, plus our guesses won't have you living in the street or working at McDonald's to make ends meet during your retirement.

2012 Acura TL SH-AWD Elite Review
Monday, January 02, 2012
Acura's midsize sport sedan, the TL is an amalgam of performance and luxury, with a bias toward driving exhilaration over decadent comfort. This is evident in the vehicle's firm ride characteristics and its insatiable appetite for corners.

If it's too good to be true...
Monday, December 26, 2011
I'm casually shopping for a good used car, and I'm particularly looking to find a relatively pristine 2nd-generation Acura Integra. Arguably one of the best cars Acura ever sold, I fell in love with the Integra's surgical steering, straightforward cabin and rev-happy engine. It was also a gorgeous looking car - as long as it was equipped with a rear spoiler.

2011 Acura ZDX SH-AWD TECH Review
Wednesday, December 14, 2011
History tells us that some car designs were great on paper, but turned out to be total flops once launched. There are many, many examples of bad ideas gone worse, and I've had the pleasure (or is that displeasure?) of driving a few in my short career. One such vehicle was the Pontiac Aztek, famous for being hideous. It was functional, but only the vision-impaired could fully appreciate its design.

2011 Acura MDX SH-AWD Elite Review
Monday, December 12, 2011
For anyone who follows my reviews and articles (which, of course, you all do), you'll know I'm not a fan of bigger vehicles. SUVs, pickups, even some CUVs are usually lost on me. I like sedans, compacts and subcompacts: the more a manufacturer can cram into a small package, the better it is for me. Perhaps it's my lifestyle: I have no need for such a vehicle - at least, that used to be the case.

2001-2005 Acura EL Pre-Owned
Saturday, December 03, 2011
The Acura 1.7EL and EL basically amounted to a luxury-enhanced version of the Honda Civic - but it was a popular and well-received model that delivered premium luxury in an affordable, cheap-to-run package. The last-generation EL was available from 2001 to 2005 inclusively, before being replaced by the CSX.

2012 Acura TL SH-AWD Elite Review
Monday, November 14, 2011
Even I'm not sure whether the title means to say that Acura should worry or if they should not. Clearly though, Honda and Acura have had lots to worry about in the last few years.

Next week on Auto123.com: Nissan LEAF road test
Friday, November 11, 2011
No doubt, the first electric vehicles will challenge our perception of the automobile being a symbol of freedom and escape. However, the satisfaction of driving past gas stations while rolling down the window and shouting, "So long, suckers!" is bliss.

2011 Acura TSX V6 Tech Review
Thursday, October 20, 2011
The TSX is a mid-size sports sedan from Acura that debuted in 2003. Until recently, it was only available with a moderately powerful 4-cylinder engine. In 2010, however, Acura wedged a potent V6 into the engine bay of the cut and chiseled 4-door, and it's this expressive mill that powers my tester. But as the saying goes, "beauty before brawn," so let's talk style and design.

2011 Acura TSX Tech Review
Sunday, August 07, 2011
Sometimes it really is hard to see the forest for the trees. And whether you understand that saying or not, you still get the concept that looking past something's appearance is often the hardest thing to do. I learned that this week with the 2011 Acura TSX.

Acura preparing for the RSX's big comeback
Friday, May 06, 2011
Ask the people you know to name an Acura model, and you can be pretty sure that the Integra and its successor, the RSX, will come up most often. The first was a fire-breathing, corner-carving machine, while the second, less surgically precise, was a unique exercise in style for its time.

Honda works on hybrid successor to Acura NSX
Monday, April 25, 2011
The iconic NSX is arguably the ultimate Honda/Acura ever created. With exotic car looks, an almighty V10 engine and a relatively-affordable price considering the available performance, it had all the ingredients to become a classic. So when rumours of a possible successor began circulating around the web, many fans understandably jumped with joy.

2011 Acura TL SH-AWD Review
Thursday, May 19, 2011
The Acura TL doesn't change much, if at all, for 2011 but that's because it didn't need to. As part of its 2009 rebirth, Acura fitted an optional all-wheel-drive system to the TL, helping Germanize this performance-oriented eye-catching sedan.

Acura IL to help struggling car maker?
Monday, December 20, 2010
If you weren't aware already, the Acura CSX (previously known as the EL) is a Canadian-only offering. The compact entry-level Acura has proven to be popular in the past but now, as the car (and its twin, the Civic) is getting older, steam has clearly run out.

TSX wagon will not be coming to town

2010 Acura TL SH-AWD Review
Sunday, September 12, 2010
Think for a second at the meaning of this review's title... Actually, the title should read: The one I've been waiting for. I have personally been a big fan of the TL since the mid-90s. When the second generation of the car arrived in 1999, I was in heaven. By 2004, for this iteration of the car, it was (and still is) the only alternative to anything German from that time. One thing and one thing only was missing in the car and it was AWD.

2010 Acura RL Elite Review
Tuesday, July 13, 2010
Your writer, his father and his brother recently partook in a long-overdue boys weekend away that had been in the works for months. The event was the Formula 1 races, the venue was Montreal, and the plan consisted of taking in some fast cars and fantastic food while immersing our Ontario-based selves in some of Quebec's world-famous French-Canadian culture, nightlife and poutine.

2010 Acura CSX Type-S Review
Sunday, July 18, 2010
The CSX, as well as the EL that preceded it, has a tough job. It serves as the entry-level model in Acura's Canadian line-up, but it's based on the Honda Civic that costs up to ten grand less.

Luxury Sedan Feature
Wednesday, July 07, 2010
The luxury sedan niche is particularly diverse and offers a wide array of models - and prices! The very definition of this type of car varies from one consumer to the next. So much so that some buyers associate the Toyota Avalon with this category, with an asking price of a little over $40,000, while others think of nothing less than the sumptuous BMW 7 Series, whose price largely exceeds $100,000.

2010 Acura TSX V6 TECH Review
Thursday, July 08, 2010
As a sporty, 4-cylinder luxury sedan, the TSX is hard to beat. Despite its recent redesign and slight increase in size, it offers a dynamic driving experience in an elegant, if a little conservative, package.

2010 Acura ZDX TECH Review
Friday, July 02, 2010
Women know how to surprise men, especially in the heavily male-dominated auto industry. The lady behind the all-new 2010 Acura ZDX is the lovely Michelle Christensen, 28. Her sketches made such a strong impression on Honda executives that, for once, the production model looks virtually identical to the concept.

2010 Acura TL SH-AWD Review
Saturday, February 20, 2010
Acura was treading on dangerous ground when they decided it was time to redesign their cars, and especially the grilles. Indeed, even on a sporty and athletic TL, the new lines stir up mixed emotions. And though its driving dynamics are spoken highly of, the TL's style hasn't exactly generated the same enthusiasm.

2010 Acura RL Elite Review
Sunday, July 04, 2010
Back in the mid-eighties, when Acura was launched as the first sports-luxury brand from the Land of the Rising Sun, the Legend was a great car. Offered as a coupe or a sedan and powered by a 162-horsepower V6, the Legend quickly became the benchmark premium Japanese car. Even the creation of Lexus and Infiniti were probably inspired by Acura.

2010 Acura ZDX Review
Sunday, May 23, 2010
Whether you choose to consider it a 5-door sports coupe of sorts or the latest iteration of the crossover, Acura's ZDX is an interesting blend of attributes that fail to establish a defining purpose, and perhaps it's this multiplicity of missions that makes it engaging.

2010 Acura RDX Technology Review
Wednesday, May 05, 2010
Acura's sport-derived RDX is a modestly priced near premium-level compact crossover SUV that's powered by Acura's only turbocharged engine. Although a front-wheel drive (FWD) arrangement is now available in the US, all Canadian-bound RDXs continue to arrive in all-wheel-drive (AWD) formats, and that's not such a bad thing given the climate north of the 49th.

2010 Acura TL SH-AWD Tech Review

2010 Acura TSX V6 TECH Review
Sunday, January 03, 2010
How do you make a sporty, compact sedan a whole lot sportier and far more refined? Simple - drop in a jewel of an engine. By substituting the base 2.4-litre 4-banger for the optional 3.5-litre V6, TSX buyers will acquire all the virtues of the existing car but with spirit that until now, wasn't found underfoot.

2010 Acura ZDX First Impressions
Friday, October 09, 2009
As automotive design moves forwards for some, backwards for others, the challenge remains to captivate and retain people's attention and imagination. This is especially true when a manufacturer introduces a new product on an already overly saturated market. If you are launching the next-generation Corolla, new boundaries need not be conquered. On the other hand, in the case of a new crossover sedan hatchback with coupe aspirations, a new playing field must be constructed.

2009 Acura MDX Technology Review

2009 Acura TL SH-AWD Tech Review (video)
Monday, December 07, 2009
