2013 Nissan Altima Preview
Wednesday, April 11, 2012
When it comes time to create a new-generation model, automakers have to first decide if a clean sheet reinvention is necessary, or if they can build on what's already there. In the case of the new 2013 Nissan Altima, it was clearly an example of the latter.

A lot of people used to buy midsize coupes, but not anymore. Back in the '80s, virtually every manufacturer had at least one such coupe in their product lineup; today, only a handful are left, and a market segment that was once dominated by the domestic brands has been turned over to the Japanese and Korean manufacturers.

2010 Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SR Review
Wednesday, April 14, 2010
It has fewer horsepower and it's pulled rather than pushed. Apart from those distinctions and approximately $12K, the Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SR has plenty in common with the pricier Infiniti G37 Coupe. They're both sleek, high performing machines of similar size and looks that utilize different versions of Nissan's award winning VQ-series V6 engine.

2010 Nissan Altima 3.5 SR Coupe Review
Friday, March 19, 2010
With its elegant profile, it looks like an Infiniti G37 coupe that shrank in the wash. The subdued growl of its 270-hp, V6 engine is a dead ringer for the 370Z. And yet, the car I got acquainted with is of a lowlier status. It is but a humble Altima 3.5 SR coupe.

If there's one market segment that's going south nowadays, it's the 2-door coupe segment. Whereas they embodied American luxury 30 years ago, they now seem to lose favor with consumers. So, why is Nissan introducing a 2-door variant of its popular Altima midsize sedan? According to company execs, there are still buyers who look for this type of car. They are convinced that the new Altima coupe will be successful as it's not a mere sedan with two doors missing.

Nissan moves into Hybrid market with new Altima
Wednesday, September 27, 2006
Nissan is set to announce the world debut of the 2007 Altima Hybrid prior to the public opening of the Orange County Auto Show this week. Their first entry into the gasoline-electric market, the Altima Hybrid carries on the models performance in a different arena- efficiency and emissions. The 2.5 litre 4-cylinder engine is mated to an Xtronic Continually Variable Transmission (CVT) as well as an electric motor and generator that increases fuel economy and lowers emissions. The CVT works by seamlessly altering drive ratios to eliminate gear shifting, allowing the engine to spend less time revving up and down and therefore increasing longevity and reducing fuel consumption.

2005 Nissan Altima 2.5S Extra
Saturday, May 21, 2005
I didn't think I would ever review a mid sized sedan for my student readers- mainly because in the mid-sized sedan market there isn't a whole lot of excitement in terms of looks or performance that students can afford.

2005 Nissan Altima 2.5S
Monday, November 15, 2004
Nissan, not so long ago, was on the brink of extinction. Renault walked in and injected some much needed life, energy and money into Japan's second largest manufacturer. Since then, worldwide sales have increased dramatically. From the time Renault became a major shareholder in early 1999, Nissan has redesigned its entire fleet as well as introducing 10 all-new models. The Altima was not much more than a reliable people mover until 2002 when it was decided that Nissan wanted to become competitive in one of the market's largest segments: midsize sedans. It was not long after that, that Nissan made its presence felt: the demand became huge and dealers had a hard time keeping stock. This time around, an automatic 2.5S with the Extra Package is what I tested and it retails for 25 298$. The complete range for Altimas is between 23 798 and 37 098$.

2002 NISSAN ALTIMA : MUCH BETTER CAR... MUCH HIGHER PRICE!
Tuesday, October 02, 2001
Nissan Canada says there's no direct comparison available between the 2002 and the 2001 Altima models because the new one's a much better car and the packaging is different, but a lot of people are going to notice that the base price has gone up $3,500 from last year. Specifically, you could buy an Altima with a 4-cylinder engine for $19,998 last year, but this year an Altima with a 4-cylinder engine starts at $23,498, and that does not include anti-lock brakes or side curtains or a bunch of other worthwhile or desired equipment.
