2009 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design Review
Tuesday, November 25, 2008
People looking for a solution to rush-hour traffic and jammed city streets won't buy a Volvo C30 for the same reasons they would buy a Toyota Yaris. The latter is a rational pick based on affordability and fuel efficiency.

2009 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design Review
Wednesday, November 05, 2008
When has a Volvo ever sparked such a firestorm of attention? In one quick stop at a gas station, I was drawn into two separate conversations about the C30 T5 R-Design. The first gent led off with the usual, "how do you like C30?" The second fellow launched by informing me of his wife's desire to own a C30. Thanks to the tremendous appeal of Volvo's youth-oriented hatch, my quick hit of fuel became a rather protracted social event.

2008 Mercedes-Benz C300 4MATIC Review
Sunday, July 27, 2008
The three-point silver star used to be synonymous with supreme excellence. However, over the last few years, it seems to have lost some of its legendary luster. Mercedes-Benz is trying just about anything to regain the trust of consumers with regard to reliability. Quality levels have been significantly improved, though the company's image still suffers.

2008 Volvo C30 2.4i Review
Friday, April 04, 2008
Volvos used to be purchased almost exclusively by college professors and other intellectuals. The reliability of these austere-looking cars did more to entice such rational buyers than the power of American muscle cars like the Challenger and Camaro. Today, the boxy Scandinavians are no more. Even before Ford took over, in 1999, Volvo had already tried to appeal to a wider, more diversified and, most importantly, richer audience by creating more dynamically shaped vehicles.

2007 Volvo C30 T5 Road Test
Saturday, December 01, 2007
The new C30 possesses all the ingredients that make up a genuine Swedish car, just like the rest of the Volvo family. Still, it has the soul of a pure Quebecer. How so? Well, the C30 was designed by Montreal-native Simon Lamarre, who's been living in Gothenburg for a couple of years now.

2007 Volvo C30 2.4i Road Test
Friday, November 23, 2007
Volvo has always been about playing it safe. They're built like bunkers and pack more safety features than the average fighter jet, and most will agree they've never been about turning heads nearly as much as they've been about protecting them. The no-risk visual execution has been done away with in their entry-level model, the C30- and when you see one, the badge may surprise you.

2007 Volvo C30 2.4i Road Test
Friday, August 10, 2007
When I first saw the C30 Concept at the Detroit Auto Show in 2006, it was love at first sight; a beautiful Swede, svelte and sexy, yet muscular and sophisticated. Clearly, this car wasn't solely conceived to gather dust on auto show floors.

2007 Volvo C30 T5 Road Test
Saturday, March 31, 2007
The last time Volvo offered Canadians a sporty compact coupe, Bobby Hull signed for a $1,000,000 to headline the upstart World Hockey Association, and Jackie Stewart drove his last Formula 1 race at Mosport Park. With thirty-five years between Volvo's P1800 ES and Volvo's latest C30 sports coupe, the phrase "highly anticipated" seems a bit of an understatement.

Pricing and packages announced for Volvo's new premium compact fighting C30
Thursday, December 14, 2006
It's been covered in the media and all over the internet from day one- Volvo was to create a premium compact vehicle to join a new segment alongside fierce competition from other automakers. 2007 Volvo C30 T5 First Impressions
Monday, November 20, 2006
Palma de Majorque -- Volvo is entering a new market segment: the 3-door coupes. Their new luxury model will battle against a select group comprised of the Audi A3, Volkswagen Rabbit GTI, Subaru WRX and MINI Cooper. With its awesome looks, welcoming interior and attractive price, the C30 T5 will no doubt put up quite a fight. As for handling, however, we will have to wait for an R-performance or all-wheel drive model, neither of which figures in the company's plans for the near future. It's a road test in bad weather that led me to this conclusion. I was looking to test drive the 2.4L base model, but it wasn't available. Considering the starting price and road manners of the T5, I believe that the C30 2.4 will prove to be outstanding thanks to a better mechanical balance on top of its natural beauty.

Volvo C30 unveiled in Paris
Thursday, September 28, 2006
It might be the smallest car in Volvo's portfolio, but the new C30 does some very big things. Size doesn't matter in this market nearly as much as features, excitement, performance and value. The C30 goes above and beyond in all of these measures, as well as being exceptionally safe, too.
