Now motorists can request for roadside assistance anywhere in Canada and the U.S. The Canadian Automobile Association's (CAA) launched July 6, a new iPhone application: the CAA Roadside App!

CAA and ORBA release 2009 Top 20 Worst Roads list

The Canadian Automobile Association and Ontario Road Builders' Association released their Top 20 Worst Roads list for 2009 today. This year close to 10,000 people voted for the road, highway or bridge in their community they wanted to see get fixed.

Why do Canadians pay higher freight and delivery charges than Americans?

CAA-Quebec recently asked the question. After extensive research, they came to the conclusion that freight and delivery (F&D) charges are 31-61 percent higher in Canada than south of the border. In some cases, Canadian dealers are asking up to $1,000 more for the same exact vehicle than their American counterparts.

Magazine error on hybrids raises key issues

The obvious issue related to the math mistake regarding the long-term costs of hybrid-powered vehicles made of Consumer Reports involves the popular magazine's credibility. If the engineers and editors at CR can't correctly do the kind of math problem that public school kids can handle, why should we be paying attention to their judgments on what vehicles we should buy?

CAA TO HELP DISPOSE OF OLD CAR BATTERIES

Ontario motorists are encouraged to participate in a car battery disposal program being launched by the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) during CAA's 'Great Battery Roundup.' Batteries can be dropped off on Saturday, October 20 at selected CAA-approved garages across Ontario that offer the Battery Assist program. In some areas of Ontario, motorists who are unable to drop off their used car batteries can call their local CAA club for pick-up during National Car Care Week from Monday, October 15 until Saturday, October 20.

CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY THE FOCUS OF NEW BCAA/ICBC PROGRAM

The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA) and ICBC today announced a joint program aimed at enhancing the safety of children while riding in cars, vans and trucks. The Child Passenger Safety Program will offer parents more access to information and hands-on help in selecting, installing and using child seats.

BCAA TO PROMOTE EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR MATURE DRIVERS

The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA), the B.C. Safety Council and ICBC today announced a joint program to promote safe driving among the province's senior population. The 55 Alive/Mature Driving Program is being offered throughout the province to help the fastest growing segment of the motoring public cope with the physical changes of aging and the demands of today's traffic environment. The program is being officially launched at events September 10 in Kelowna and September 13 in Victoria.
