Dodge Caliber successor set for 2012 NAIAS debut
Monday, June 20, 2011
Chrysler Group products have been seriously improving and diversifying lately, the main result of which is a significantly higher level of interior quality. The all-new 200 represents an obvious upgrade over the obsolete Sebring while the Grand Cherokee impresses many with its fresh new design, but leftovers such as the Dodge Caliber remind us that the automaker still has ways to go.

2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 Review
Thursday, August 21, 2008
In many ways, the 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 is reminiscent of the 1985 Dodge Omni GLH. Those letters, by the way, had a very explicit meaning: Goes Like Hell. It was all about power or, to be more accurate, brute power. In order to achieve the same level of refinement than the GTI, Civic Si and MAZDASPEED3, the company's modern hot hatch needs some polishing.

2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 Review (video)
Thursday, October 23, 2008
The Dodge SRT4's job has always been simple: to crush the imported competition by offering the most power for the least amount of money in its class. Originally derived from the Neon, the SRT4 badge has now corrupted the sensible Caliber with chrome 'nineteens', a large hatch spoiler, triple-vented hood, fantastic SRT sport seats and a revised front end with fog lamps and brake ducts.

Comparison test: torque-steering Hot Hatches (video)
Monday, July 07, 2008
In Canada, we've always been fond of hatchbacks. In the '80s, such models with higher horsepower levels, tight suspensions and sport seats were roaming the streets. Remember the original VW Rabbit GTI? The Mazda 323GTX? The Honda Civic Si? The Dodge/Plymouth Colt Turbo? The Toyota Corolla GT-S? The Chevrolet Sprint Turbo and Pontiac Firefly Turbo? The Suzuki Swift GT? We do, as we wipe the tears in our eyes.

Winter Tire Evaluation (video)
Wednesday, May 28, 2008
Summer is fast approaching, but many of us are still haunted by memories of the record-breaking snowfalls of last winter. We, at Auto123.com, were actually happy to see Mother Nature throw her white powdery stuff at us. Why? We spent the entire cold season putting Michelin's X-Ice winter tires to the test. It's now time for a recap.

2007 Dodge Caliber SXT Sport Road Test (video)
Friday, October 06, 2006
The Dodge Caliber is a car that is just full of surprises. In fact, I got a pretty big one as soon at I arrived home in my test vehicle. You see, I like to play a little game which I call "guess the press car sticker price". Basically, I drive maybe an hour or so home in my test vehicle, guess at the price, then open the little package from the manufacturers to reveal the answer. Ok, so it's not exactly Jeopardy or the Price is Right, but it amuses me.

2007 Dodge Caliber SXT Road Test
Tuesday, September 19, 2006
My first stomp of the throttle had me thinking, "jeez, this is a noisy little buggy." I was driving this week's tester, a 2006 Dodge Caliber, equipped with a 2.0 litre, 4-valve per cylinder four-banger bolted to a continuously variable transmission- CVT for short. The Caliber is intended to replace the Dodge Neon, which was somewhat of a disappointment in terms of reliability and sales. The Caliber ascribes to the "tall" styling theme that has become so popular of late. Shaped more as a wagon, the extra height of the 5-door hatchback adds significantly to its versatility. It also gave designers more to work with in capturing elements of Dodge DNA.

Gone is the dash-mounted flower vase in the latest version of Volkswagen's Bug. Gone too is much of its cutesiness, replaced by a notable degree of sportiness intended to broaden the Beetle's target market by attracting male attention.
