2012 Honda Civic EX sedan Review
Friday, January 13, 2012
I've just returned from taking this week's tester on a good highway run, and I'm more impressed than I expected to be. Sure, everyone knows the Honda Civic is a highly popular, no-nonsense compact economy car, but that doesn't mean they know how refined and efficient this plebe has become.

2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan Review
Monday, December 19, 2011
The first manual car I ever drove was a '98 Honda Civic SiR Coupe. It was a close friend's car. He loved that car more than life itself, and I was honoured that he offered to go through circuits and bumps with me in a deserted parking lot. It was in that Civic SiR that I learned all about the clutch friction point, the meaning of "rpm," how listening to your engine is often better than watching the gauges, and that no matter what, you never, ever want to try and shift into first gear while rolling.

2012 Honda Civic Hybrid First Impressions
Thursday, September 29, 2011
Unfortunately, we can't say that Honda has done very well with their hybrid models over the past couple of years. The sales numbers are in for the first six months of 2011 and, like the previous 13 years, the Honda Civic is Canada's bestselling car. However, its lead is actually pretty thin, and Honda must be wondering if it can pull it off for a 14th year in a row.

2012 Honda Civic Si First Impressions
Wednesday, April 20, 2011
LANDOVER, Maryland--The Civic Si: the pinnacle of all Civics. This Civic, one does not buy because it is a Civic, but because it is an Si. Holding the keys in one hand and rubbing one's chin with the other while facing the car, the new owner does not think that they've made an economical, sensible choice. No. The Si is for adrenaline junkies that thrive and live by a driving code that is slowly dying: to drive and not be driven.

Yes, I know. The redesigned 2012 Civic is about to arrive, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to try out the 2011 Hybrid model, which we haven't driven for a few years. Since the introduction of the Insight, Honda pretty much abandoned the gas-electric Civic in Canada.

Statement by Honda Canada Regarding Fuel Pump Module Recall: 2011 Civic
Friday, March 18, 2011
Honda will voluntarily recall 3,636 model-year 2011 Honda Civic vehicles and 9 model-year 2011 Acura CSX vehicles in Canada to inspect and possibly replace the fuel pump module inside the gasoline tank. Internal testing revealed that the roll-over valve inside certain fuel pump modules may have been damaged during production. If a vehicle is involved in a rollover crash, the cracked roll-over valve may allow fuel leakage from the gasoline tank into the evaporative canister. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this defect.

2010 Honda Civic Si Coupe Review
Wednesday, August 25, 2010
The Honda Civic is a one-size-fits-all kind of car. There are many configurations and trim levels to choose from. The coupe mostly appeals to young drivers with its seemingly endless tuning possibilities, while the sedan keeps dominating Canadian sales charts as a tried and true people's car. With this single model, Honda is able to meet the needs of a wide range of consumers.

2010 Honda Civic DX-G Sedan Review
Friday, January 08, 2010
This car is a clear testament to Honda's know-how. Introduced in late 2005 as a 2006 model-year car, the latest generation of the Civic just about changed the face of the compact car segment with its near-futuristic styling and innovative cabin. That was five model years ago, but the Civic still reigns supreme in its category.

2009 Honda Civic Hybrid Review

First off, let me say that Honda's highly efficient, entry-level hybrid sedan is more refined operationally than I expected. It's also remarkably roomy, not to mention miserly when it comes to fuel consumption.

There are few cars on the road today that have the brand image and value that the Civic has. Everybody knows what a Civic is. When someone who doesn't know much about cars has to buy one, a Civic often comes to mind during the shopping process. If everybody's got one, it must be good, right?

2009 Honda Civic Si Coupe Review
Thursday, August 06, 2009
In my adolescent years, which is starting to feel like decades ago, a Honda Civic was a car for teenagers. As a small, light, cheap to operate hatchback, the Civic and its CRX variant were the weapons of choice for those of us who were finishing up high school, starting college and had weekend jobs pumping gas.

2009 Honda Civic Sedan Sport Review
Monday, August 17, 2009
This year's Civic lesson came in the form of a pretty basic DX-G sedan. As near as I can tell, the most obvious difference between the base DX and a DX-G is that the "G" has power programmable door locks. This particular feature I remember because the first few times I drove it, I thought about reprogramming the unlock portion so that it would unlock when the key was turned off.

After the photos of the new 2009 Civic Sedan, Honda is at it again, this time presenting images of the revamped Civic Coupe. Like the Civic Sedan, the Coupe has inherited a new, angular nose. All in all, the design stays in tune, and no radical changes have been introduced for 2009.

The 2009 Honda Civic lightly tweaked

Honda has refreshed its popular line of Civic sedans and coupes, now in mid-life. Available since 2006, the current Civic is just as bold, so only minor exterior changes have been made. New colour combinations are also available.

2008 Honda Civic Si Review
Monday, July 28, 2008
There are sports cars and then there are sports car wannabes. The 2008 Honda Civic Si belongs in the first group. While it may look like the 70,000 other Civics that were sold in Canada last year, this compact Japanese has stronger muscles and all the ingredients to deliver plenty of driving thrills.

2008 Honda Civic EX-L Review
Wednesday, July 02, 2008
The Civic continues to be the best-selling car in Canada -- and luck has nothing to do with it. The flattering lines of the new model (introduced for 2006) make it look and feel sportier and larger than ever before. Designers managed to create a beautiful compact sedan that stands out from the competition. In fact, the Civic looks like a midsize car due to its slender yet athletic silhouette.

Is driving a hybrid really money-saving?
Sunday, June 22, 2008
With gas prices steadily rising, more and more drivers are turning to hybrid vehicles, which offer greater fuel economy although they're fairly pricier than regular models. The question is: are gas savings in a hybrid enough to offset its higher sticker price?

2008 Honda Civic Hybrid Review
Monday, June 02, 2008
Have you seen gas prices lately! No doubt you have, the shock of which may have you abandoning your gas-guzzler in favour of outstanding fuel economy. If that's the case, read on but let me first say that not all hyper-economy cars provide equality when it comes to cabin size and thriftiness.

2008 Honda Civic Hybrid Review
Sunday, April 06, 2008
Stop looking for signs of foreign influence in the Honda Civic Hybrid. As far as styling, functionality and performance are concerned, this car is a Honda through and through. Compared to direct rivals, it has nothing to envy. The Civic Hybrid positions itself as a highly fuel-efficient, decently comfortable passenger car.
