2012 Volkswagen Passat 2.5L Comfortline Review
Thursday, April 05, 2012
It's so popular that Volkswagen recently announced it will add 800 jobs at its Tennessee plant to increase production of the new Passat, the largest Passat ever, to 170,000 units annually by 2013. The increase is expected to expand the plant's workforce to 3,500 by year end.

2012 Volkswagen Eos Comfortline Review
Tuesday, December 27, 2011
She was a Greek goddess. Her brother, Helios, was the sun. So that Helios could shine brightly every day, Eos made sure the heavens opened up at dawn. If you lived in ancient Greece and believed in the Titan gods, you'd believed she was the reason each day arrived.

Maybe understated is better
Wednesday, November 09, 2011
I quite enjoy a flashy car. Bright green paint job; hood scoop; flared wheel wells; a massive wing; skirt kit; flashy decals; bring it on. Flashy cars get all the attention, they've got all the gusto and usually have the goods to back it up. If I'm driving an in-your-face vehicle, I prepare myself for a week of questions, second-looks and general curiosity from neighbours and passersby.

2012 Volkswagen Beetle First Impressions
Thursday, July 14, 2011
BERLIN, Germany--History isn't something we auto journalists often talk about. Sure, the history of the automobile is fascinating and the reason we are where we are today in the market, but it's the future we look to most often. Well, this week I took a step back in time with Volkswagen, and I'm sure glad I did.

2011 Volkswagen Golf Wagon TDI Clean Diesel Comfortline Review
Monday, May 09, 2011
The time will come when "more" and "too much" will be bad words, much like "sport utility vehicles". It will come sooner than later, I promise you. Three rows of seating will be relegated to minivans, those that will remain. V8s, already on their way out, will be nothing but a fond memory and large vehicles in which they were found with them.

2011 Volkswagen Tiguan Comfortline Review
Friday, April 29, 2011
I'm not usually a fan of SUVs. But there's always an exception to the rule, and here it's Volkswagen's Tiguan. I have to say, the little ute really does justice to the "sport" in Sport Utility Vehicle - and that's rarely the case in this class.

2011 Volkswagen Touareg TDI Clean Diesel Comfortline Review
Friday, February 11, 2011
Fine, the title makes no sense. It refers to Dawson City and its famous Sourtoe Cocktail which I discovered on my northern adventure at the wheel of a smart fortwo last year. I was too chicken to drink the cocktail... See for yourself what it involves.

2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Wagon Comfortline Review
Tuesday, May 26, 2009
Intelligence is a concept that's hard to define. Rationality can be a sign of intelligence, especially when it comes to shopping for a new car. It's also the focus of engineers and designers who created the all-new 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon TDI Clean Diesel. This car is a sweet combination of understated styling, generous cargo room and, above all, great fuel economy.

2009 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 TDI Clean Diesel Review
Monday, June 15, 2009
The current wave of hi-tech ultra-low emissions diesel engines has given the venerable oil-burner a rebirth in the passenger car market, and that's a good thing given the many appealing aspects of diesel power.

2009 Volkswagen Eos Comfortline Review
Friday, April 17, 2009
Consumers looking for a four-seat convertible around $30,000 have plenty of options. Nearly a dozen models are available on the market, all producing 200 horsepower or so. The Ford Mustang V6, Pontiac G6, Mitsubishi Eclipse and Toyota Solara are just a few examples.

2009 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TSI 4MOTION Review
Monday, November 17, 2008
The 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan is part of a new wave of European compact SUVs. For those seeking foreign prestige, the mid-$30K price range and 200 horsepower will sound pretty enticing and reasonable. Right now, products that fit this description come from Asia and North America. The RAV4 V6, Forester and Vue XR are prime examples. Alas, they're not "Made in Europe"...

2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Review
Tuesday, September 16, 2008
The cheating's over. After selling a 2006 Jetta TDI well into 2008 because of federal emissions regulations in effect for 2007 models and up, Volkwagen has finally introduced the 2009 model with a brand-new turbo diesel engine. Better yet, the new car costs $2,475 less than the outgoing one. For 2009, the German automaker offers no less than 16 variations of the Jetta, including sedan and wagons models, the GLI, and excluding the old-school City Jetta.

2009 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon Comfortline Review
Wednesday, August 13, 2008
First of all, I have to confess one thing: I never really liked family wagons, both in terms of styling and utility. Aside from a few rare exceptions, I always thought that the big lump in the back (also referred to as the cargo hold) significantly affected the vehicle's design. The rear wheels look and feel undersized, taking away any ounce of sportiness left.

2009 Volkswagen Tiguan Comfortline 4MOTION Review
Monday, July 21, 2008
Like me, you probably know one or buddies that will always arrive late to a party. It might be because they want to be noticed when they walk through the door, or maybe it's just because they're born that way, being late to any get-together or appointment. But, late or not, you're always glad to see them because you know a party just isn't a party without them.

Gone is the dash-mounted flower vase in the latest version of Volkswagen's Bug. Gone too is much of its cutesiness, replaced by a notable degree of sportiness intended to broaden the Beetle's target market by attracting male attention.
