2007-2011 Honda CR-V Pre-Owned
Saturday, May 19, 2012
The CR-V was Honda's top-selling entry into the compact crossover segment occupied by Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Ford and others. With four-cylinder power on all models, a reputation for reliable and fuel-efficient performance and plenty of flexible utility, it was a machine that connected well with Canadian families. Completely updated for 2012, the last-generation CR-V has now transitioned fully into used car territory.

2012 Honda CR-V Touring Review
Wednesday, April 11, 2012
Only the Ford Escape sold in greater numbers than the Honda CR-V in the U.S. in 2011. In Canada, the CR-V finished the year in third place behind the Escape and the Dodge Journey. When your vehicle sells as well and it's due for a redesign, you're obviously very cautious about what should change and what should stay the same.

Like the 2012 Civic before it, the new CR-V, if we are to base our judgement on the picture you see here, will be at the receiving-end of a physical once-over.

2011 Honda CR-V EX-L Navi Review
Sunday, March 27, 2011
Honda's popular CR-V has been a mainstay of the compact crossover segment since its introduction, and there's very good reason for that, not the least of which is its everyday practicality. The CR-V is now in its third generation. Along the way it's gained additional power, improved operational refinement and livelier driving dynamics in addition to a bolder, more distinctive appearance.

2010 Honda CR-V EX-L NAVI Review
Tuesday, March 16, 2010
Standing out from the crowd is no small task for compact sport utility vehicles. The competition in this market segment keeps getting wider and fiercer. Yet, at the same time, most entries feature similar aesthetics, making the selection a tough dilemma.

A teary goodbye to shifting your own gears

Listen up, stick-shift nuts. Our favourite transmission is becoming an endangered species. A way of motoring life for enthusiasts the world over is slowly being eliminated from the product lines of numerous automakers.

2010 Honda CR-V EX-L NAVI Review
Sunday, January 17, 2010
Three times this week I've piled my teenage son and a smattering of his friends and related gear into the CR-V for a day trip to a local ski hill. On all three occasions, I have grown more appreciative of Honda's compact crossover SUV.

2009 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD Review
Tuesday, September 01, 2009
Life is full of surprises, but some particular things are completely devoid of them. Most compact SUVs are built to satisfy the basic needs of a small family, like getting to and from the day-care, go out on weekend trips and go shopping, and head up to the grandparents for some kid spoiling.

2008 Honda CR-V EX-L Review
Wednesday, October 01, 2008
The Honda CR-V isn't the most popular compact SUV in Canada. That title goes to the Ford Escape. However, the diminutive Honda has been #2 in its segment for the past few years. Sign of its ongoing popularity, for which the rising fuel prices are no doubt partly responsible, it's ahead of the Toyota RAV4, the Jeep Patriot and the Nissan Rogue.

2002-2006 Honda CR-V Pre-Owned
Saturday, June 21, 2008
Usually, a used car review spends a couple of pages outlining the benefits, characteristics and features of a given model- followed by a look at an often-lengthy list of common problems and recalls that potential buyers should be aware of. The internet lets dissatisfied owners take to message boards and consumer advocate sites with sharp-tongued complaints in a heartbeat. This makes my job simple- usually.

2007 Honda CR-V EX Road Test
Sunday, July 29, 2007
Human beings have brains that are separated in two. In theory, everything that is logical, rational and analytic are processed through the left side of our brain, while intuition, emotion and subjectivity are assigned to the right side. In short, very little information on the new CR-V goes through the right side of the brain.

1997-2001 Honda CR-V Pre-Owned
Saturday, January 20, 2007
With the rise in interest for SUVs in full swing in the mid to late 90s, many car makers saw an opportunity to further cash in on the craze. They simply realized that not everyone wanted a truck desired it to not fit in their garage. Suzuki, along with General Motors had already been playing in this field for a while with the likes of the Suzuki Sidekick, the Geo Tracker and its twin, the Pontiac Sunrunner.

2007 Honda CR-V EX-L NAVI Road Test

I am going to begin this review with my conclusion. The seemingly never ending search for the perfect vehicle may have come to an end. The Honda CR-V represents the total package; my opinion of course but hear me out.

2007 Honda CR-V First Impressions
Monday, October 30, 2006
The CR-V is a sure shot for Honda, which is sold in over 160 countries. This third-generation model had to continue that upward trend. Engineers chose to tweak and improve all aspects of this compact SUV. In addition, they're offering us a two-wheel drive version of the popular trucklet. Buyers will feel at home in the new, nicer-looking CR-V, while they benefit from practical improvements that expect from Honda's perfectionists.

2007 Honda CR-V Preview
Tuesday, October 03, 2006
The CR-V is one of the original compact SUVs that established the segment. Back in 1997, it was on its own with the Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota RAV4. The CR-V went on to be a great success. Its main characteristics included impressive versatility, economy and driving pleasure.

2005 Honda CR-V EX
Sunday, December 26, 2004
The CR-V first came to Canada as a new 1997 mini sport-Ute to compete with the Suzuki Sidekick. Until that year, the Chevy Tracker and its Suzuki twin were just about the only compact SUVs offered. At the time, the Honda was only available with a 4-speed automatic transmission mated to a 126 hp 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. The small amount of power that the CR-V offered was, at the time, competitive. That is until Subaru launched their 165 hp Forester the following year, and in 2001, Mazda and Ford introduced their 200 hp Tributes and Escapes. In 2002, Honda vastly improved (read: made bigger and more powerful) the CR-V by adding a larger engine and adding more utility in the mix. Since its inception, the CR-V has been a class leader in safety and reliability.

2002 Honda CR-V
Thursday, June 06, 2002
Since the CR-Vs introduction in 1997, Honda has dominated the compact SUV segment. For the last five years many manufacturers have followed with their own version such as the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, Subaru Forester, Jeep Liberty, Toyota RAV-4,Hyundai Santa Fe and Nissan XTerra. The first generationCR-V proved reliable and appealing but was aging vis-a-vis the newcomers. The 2002 version has what it takes to regain sales dominance.

2002 Honda CR-V Lineup Earns Five Star Safety Rating
Friday, May 03, 2002
The 2002 Honda CR-V earned the Federal Government's top rating of Five Stars in all frontal and side impact tests, according to information released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as a part of its New Car Assessment Program (NCAP).
Tests were conducted on CR-V models equipped with and without side airbags. Both models achieved top marks for all tests conducted. NHTSA tests vehicles in the most common injury causing crashes-frontal and side impacts. In frontal tests, vehicles are crashed into a fixed barrier at 35 mph, while in side impact tests, a deformable moving barrier impacts the vehicle's side at 38.5 mph. A vehicle's performance is given a rating of one to five stars, with five stars being the best level of crash protection.
