The Dodge Nitro brought a bit of toughness and manliness to the utility vehicle scene occupied by models like the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-7. With a driver-selectable four-wheel-drive system, plenty of ground clearance and a solid rear axle, this was a tough truck ready for towing and off-road use - though it was intended equally for use on the road more travelled, too.

The platform of Alfa Romeo Giulietta was utilized for the 2013 Dodge Dart. At first blush, the differences between the vehicles seem considerable. The Dart is a much larger four-door sedan, while the Alfa Romeo is a smaller, slimmer, upscale hatchback, specifically designed for European markets.

From the Porsche Boxster S Black Edition to the Chevy Camaro 2SS Convertible, the cars gracing my driveway have been testosterone packed. There's something about driving a vehicle that's perceived as masculine that makes a car that much more appealing (in my opinion). To some, it might spell "intimidation."

Proof: The Chrysler group sells two minivans, the Dodge Grand Caravan we're testing this week and the more upscale Town & Country.
