Mom's Taxi has been discovered by the "in" crowd. Ford says that 20% of all Flex sales are in the state of California. Does this mean it's the next Woodie surf wagon or is it being used for transporting people? In reality, the Ford Flex is being used for nearly every type of transport. After all, Ford named it the "Flex" because it was short for flexible.

My reasoning is that Ford has taken the concept of a five-passenger family car and added a few ideas of its own. The 2013 Ford Taurus will be available in SE, SEL and Limited trim levels as well as the high-performance SHO.

Ford has opted for subtle changes to the Mustang for 2013. HID headlamps are now standard on every model, while changes to grille opening and the splitter move air in a more efficient and controllable manner through the radiator. Trim changes to the side graphics and body cladding (where used) leave the silhouette of the car unchanged.

Yours truly is no fan of Ford's MyFord Touch interface system. My latest patience contest resulted in my having to reboot my 2012 Edge tester because the entire system froze on me. As well, I could not interact with the controls as I was wearing gloves in Februay; I can deal with this issue with my iPhone but not in a car...

The system launched in 2010 on the Explorer and Edge models, and Ford says order rates have increased 5% going into the 2012 model year, up from 79 per cent of Explorer buyers and 72 per cent of Edge buyers who already order the system.

Ford's new Fiesta ST is ready to roll and debuting in Geneva. Slated for European delivery in 2013, the Fiesta ST features a 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine that offers 0-100 km/h acceleration times of less than seven seconds and a top speed of 220 km/h. Despite its smaller size (the last was a 2.0-litre), the turbocharged engine produces 180 hp, up 20 per cent.
