2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review
Wednesday, October 19, 2011
In the world of popular mid-size sedans, the 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid claims to be the current fuel-efficiency champ. Whether that claim is sustained or not (and it won't, when the 2012 Camry Hybrid will arrive), the Fusion Hybrid is tremendously pleasing to drive and remarkably quiet, yet it's up against some pretty fierce competition such as the Toyota Camry, Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata to name but a few.

2011 Ford Fusion SEL Review
Tuesday, August 02, 2011
The Fusion mid-size sedan has been around since the 2006 model year, and although it hasn't yet received a full redesign, Ford is constantly improving it every year. As a result, it doesn't seem to age as quickly as it should, and stays competitive against the likes of the Honda Accord, the Toyota Camry and the Hyundai Sonata.

2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review
Monday, September 06, 2010
Purchasing a hybrid isn't a no-brainer. You obviously want to save on fuel costs if you're considering one, and you're conscious about the part you have to play in order to save the planet. You might also want to look trendy riding in a hybrid vehicle; the celebrities do it down in Hollywood, so why can't we?

2010 Midsize Sedan Comparative Road Test
Monday, May 31, 2010
Social media being what it is, we, at Auto123.com, posted some pictures and comments about our upcoming comparison road test on our Facebook page (Auto123.com). We listed the cars slated for evaluation and shortly afterwards, comments came pouring in, asking why this car and that car were not included in the test. First, we can't test them all. Second, we limit ourselves to a segment and third, we try and have them carry similar powertrains and levels of kit.

For the millions of people who suffer from airborne allergies, Ford is making a small change that could produce huge benefits. The particulate filters remove pollen, mold spores and road dust from outside air. The result is a cleaner, fresher cabin for occupants.

A bit bland but otherwise the first generation of Ford's compact Fusion was attractive, nicely proportioned and generally inoffensive from all angles inside and out. For 2010 those mild attributes have been kicked up a notch and a half, and even more when it's the Fusion Sport we're talking about.

Friday, May 01, 2009
The future might be uncertain for GM and Chrysler, but at Ford, the morale must be a lot better. They started their crash diet two years ago, and they're not on the verge of destruction. That's no reason for standing still, however, so Ford is aiming to resist the U.S. economy slump by offering solid new products, not far-away promises.

WASHINGTON, April 28, 2009 - Drivers trained in mileage-maximizing techniques such as smooth acceleration and coasting to red lights were able to get an extraordinary 1,445.7 miles out of a single tank of gas during a fund-raising effort in Washington, D.C. that concluded today. They did it by averaging 81.5 miles per gallon in an off-the-showroom floor, non-modified 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, the most fuel-efficient midsize car in North America - nearly doubling its U.S. certified mileage.

Shame, all this financial doom and gloom stuff lately. It's depressing sure--but it also takes away from some of the great new stuff our automakers are planning to bring to market. Example? Ford's latest hybrid--the Fusion. Powered by a newly hybridized version of the automaker's latest 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, Ford engineers are saying that it will be the most fuel efficient mid-sized sedan in America--with at least a 6-mpg advantage over its key competitor, the Camry Hybrid.

The new 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid gets a SmartGauge
Wednesday, October 29, 2008
The new 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid and its Mercury twin, the Milan, will hit markets in the first quarter of 2009. The hybrids also boast another innovative feature, the EcoGuide, which allows owners to adapt their driving in order to optimize output.

2008 Ford Fusion V6 SEL AWD Review
Thursday, September 25, 2008
I have always liked the look of this car. In fact, I find it hard not to stare at a Fusion when I see one on the road. I don't really know why that is, possibly that gorgeous 3-bar chromed grille, but perhaps it's because they just look so darn European! That is, until you open the door of one, and then you realize that Uncle Sam's lot have been busying themselves inside! The interior looks more Lincoln-like than anything produced on the banks of the Seine.

2008 Ford Fusion SE Review
Tuesday, May 06, 2008
In Canada, we prefer compact cars, but in the USA, mid-sizers are more popular. There are several reasons that explain why we buy smaller vehicles including higher fuel prices, tighter budget and higher sticker prices. Yet, a base mid-size sedan isn't much more expensive than a fully-loaded compact. What do you prefer? Okay, the mid-size car won't have as many features, and might now be as fuel-efficient, but it could compensate well in ride comfort, refinement and space.

A given product is good. Since the automotive industry is driven by product, the final outcome of all the research and development has to be good. The Ford Fusion is good. It is perhaps the best overall car that Ford has to offer its customers at the moment. Without a doubt, you will agree that the Mustang is not a regular run-of-the-mill automobile and therefore, I am not referring to it when I say that the Fusion id Ford's most interesting car.

Jennifer, my wife, was very ill, so much so that it was impossible to attend the Los Angeles introduction of the new Fusion, a midsize car that is critical in the grand scheme of Ford's future, not to mention the competitiveness of Detroit's Big 3 overall. One of the most hotly contested segments in the car industry is the midsized sedans. If a manufacturer cannot breakthrough in this group, they will probably not achieve the success that they are looking for. In other words, manufacturers have to come up with winners to get a share of the sales pie otherwise, they pack up their bags and go home.

2006 Ford Fusion SEL i4 Road Test

When it was announced in early 2004, we expected big things from the Ford Five Hundred, the supposed successor to the Ford Taurus (which is still in production). We got all excited and giddy about the idea of a Ford that was engineered in part by Volvo and would have all wheel drive. And while it's as safe as NORAD, compared to the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and even the V8-powered Buick Lucerne, it hardly ...

2006 Ford Fusion SEL V6
Wednesday, November 23, 2005
Don't you just love checking out hot, young models? I sure do. So I spent some time with the hot new Ford Fusion which was recently released alongside a promise to spice things up in its segment. Fusion is a kind of cooking too, apparently. A chef friend of mine named David Koski tells me that it "combines elements of various regions onto one plate for a very unique experience". I tried it once, something like spaghetti and chicken balls. My take on fusion cooking was that each country should be on a different plate. Not here though. Built off the same CD-3 architecture as the Mazda 6, the Fusion fuses Japanese technology with American looks for a modern and unique package that's both dense and rugged like most American cars, with a confident, quality feel associated with most Japanese cars.
