Crossover Special!
Friday, June 25, 2010
Crossovers are the modern evolution of traditional sport utility vehicles -- kind of new-millennium four-wheel Swiss knives! Over the past few years, this type of vehicle has gotten more and more diversified technically as well as aesthetically. In some cases, they even copy certain parts of passenger cars. No wonder consumers often get confused!

2010 Infiniti FX50S Review
Monday, June 28, 2010
The radically-styled first-generation Infiniti FX took the industry, the media and consumers by surprise. A few years later, everyone wondered if the company would push the envelope even further for the encore. Well, I'm here to report that version 2.0 brings extreme styling to the table... and then some.

2009 Infiniti FX35 Review
Sunday, February 15, 2009
Infiniti's FX line of crossovers exhibit eye-catching styling, which I would argue eclipses that of all other SUVs and crossovers when it comes to visual drama. The 'superhero' image portrayed by this vehicle is distinctive, edgy and to some, over the top. To others, the 'cheetah' inspiration has been beautifully captured in the FX's bionic lines.

2009 Infiniti FX50 Review
Thursday, January 29, 2009
The 2009 FX50 replaces last year's FX45 while pushing power and technology to the extreme in Infiniti's flagship, all-wheel-drive (AWD) crossover SUV. This vehicle's wickedly expressive styling embodies comfort and luxury that takes a back seat to no other manufacturer of these highly popular, genuinely functional sleds.

2009 Infiniti FX35 Review
Friday, September 19, 2008
Infiniti chose to pump the previous version of its SUV full of steroids. If massive is what you're going for, it's got it, but forget about practicality. Behind the wheel, every last point of reference for driving and parking your fat little car is lost. That's why it's equipped with a landslide of electronic gadgets to help you arrive safe and sound.

2009 Infiniti FX50 Review
Tuesday, September 30, 2008
According to famous scientist Charles Darwin, all species eventually adapt to their respective environment. Well, it looks like this theory now applies to the wonderful world of automobiles. A few years ago, Infiniti strived to give a whole new meaning to the word "Sport" in sport utility vehicle by creating the original FX.

2009 Infiniti FX First Impressions
Wednesday, April 23, 2008
The 2009 Infiniti FX is no ordinary SUV. Like a four-door AWD coupe on high heels -- or high w-heels -- it calls for attention. Canadian communication guru Marshall McLuhan would have probably used it to illustrate his sacrosanct principle: "the medium is the message". The "new" FX looks an awful lot like the original, launched in 2003. But that's understandable. How could you fully redesign such an eccentric figure without compromising its essence? Impossible. Designers wisely and subtly evolved the styling by reshaping the grille, making the front fenders more pronounced and altering the taillights. But ultimately, the FX is doomed to retain the same devastating though nearly immutable look.

2009 Infiniti FX: A little bit of déjà vu

The bionic cheetah morphed into a supernatural cheetah. That's how Bryan Murphy, Product Planning Manager at Nissan Canada, describes the second-generation Infiniti FX crossover. "A boldly styled vehicle that combines luxury, performance and versatility in a single unique package," he adds.

Nissan's Green Program
Saturday, March 29, 2008
For Nissan, the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) represents a major event. Over the last few years, the Big Apple served as the launch pad for significant new Nissan products. Last year, for instance, the Infiniti EX premium crossover was introduced to the world. The 2008 edition of the NYIAS is no exception to this trend, as the Japanese automaker unveiled two highly-anticipated vehicles: the second-generation Infiniti FX50 crossover and the completely redesigned Maxima sedan.

New York Auto Show: Nissan
Wednesday, March 19, 2008
According to Nissan, the all-new 2009 Maxima returns to "4-door sports car" roots. The Max will be available in two trim levels, the 3.5 S and 3.5 SV, and features a more-powerful engine than the outgoing 2008 model. The venerable 3.5-liter V6, code-named VQ, gets internal revisions and a higher compression ratio to bump output to 290 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque. A revised version of Nissan's Xtronic CVT transmission will equip both Maxima variants, and wheel-mounted paddle shifters will be available. The Xtronic also gets that Nissan calls a "Ds mode", which is basically sportier shift mappings and throttle blipping. The car will remain front-wheel drive, but Nissan promises that torque steer will be virtually eliminated.

2006 Infiniti FX45 Road Test
Wednesday, June 21, 2006
One would think that in our current state of high gas prices, environmental consciousness, and the social trend of simplifying hectic lives (Hello, iPod!); a technology-laden, vee-eight-powered, high-performance sports-utility-vehicle would be about as popular as the late-'80s shock comedian Andrew "Dice" Clay performing at a church social. But for those who desire the functionality of an SUV and the performance of a luxury sports sedan, welcome to Infiniti's FX45.

2005 Infiniti FX45 (Video Clip)
Thursday, November 24, 2005
When does a category of vehicle cease to exist? Never. It only continuously reinvents itself. Where there used to be a clear line between cars and trucks, there is now only vague indications of what is what. Many vehicles nowadays are called crossovers. The proper definition for this term would read something like: "A blending of characteristics into one entity". Many cars and trucks are categorized as Crossovers such as the Ford Freestyle, the Subaru Outback and the Mazda 5. These automobiles are "blendings" of similar body styles such as minivans, station wagons or SUVs.

2003 Infiniti FX35 & FX45 Road Test
Tuesday, February 11, 2003
Before we get started let's get one thing perfectly clear. Infiniti's new FX isn't for everyone. Not all will appreciate its dramatic styling while many will be intimidated by its unparalleled performance. To those seeking a soft, squishy, generic SUV, go elsewhere. But if a well-balanced combination of sports car driving dynamics and SUV utility is an important factor in your next new vehicle purchase, look no further than your Infiniti dealership.
