2010 GMC Terrain SLT2 AWD Review
Wednesday, May 19, 2010
I'm going to be blunt, mean even. If you thought that the recent past, including the tough times in the auto business, have purified the process of building a car, you'd only be partially right. Badge engineering is well and alive. "What's that?" you ask. Take identical platforms, powertrains, near-identical interior and exterior designs and call one Pineapple, and the other Papaya. General Motors has made an exact science of this exercise.

2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid SLT Review
Tuesday, November 04, 2008
I find it hard to put the "fuel-efficient" label on a vehicle like the GMC Yukon just because it offers a hybrid powertrain. After all, this American mastodon, which weighs over two tons, does not really compare to a Prius, a Golf TDI or the upcoming 2010 Insight. I'm not opposed to big trucks. On the contrary, I believe they meet the needs of farmers and entrepreneurs more than any other type of vehicles.

It's a third-row-equipped, full-size luxurious sled available in front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations. Apart from several equipment features, the Acadia is substantially unchanged for '08.

2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid Review
Thursday, June 19, 2008
Now that's a pretty big statement for an automotive journalist to make, but trust me, it has nothing to do with my being in the back pocket of GM and them throwing me huge bundles of the folding stuff to make it (I wish!!!). It doesn't even have much to do with the overall feel of the vehicle, nor the number of bells and whistles which GMC has added to the Yukon for 09

The Chevy Silverado won "Truck of the Year" awards both in Canada and North America. Yet, GMC offers about the same exact product. Why does the former get all the spotlight while the other stays in the shadow? The Sierra boasts all the same qualities as the Silverado and very little flaws. So, if you live closer to a GMC dealer, it's the right spot to find the right pickup.

2008 Chevrolet Tahoe / GMC Yukon Hybrids win green awards
Monday, February 11, 2008
Hybrid technology can reduce emissions and fuel consumption when used in a small car- but apply the same hardware to a large SUV, and the potential environmental benefits are even greater. Their thirstier engines stand to burn less fuel when assisted by an electric-drive system, and SUV's also offer plenty of room for the additional hybrid hardware like batteries and wiring.

While powered by a potent 6.2-litre V8 engine, the top-of-the-line Denali model I tested proved to be smooth and progressive, especially when hauling.

2007 GMC Yukon SLT 4WD Road Test
Thursday, May 03, 2007
Dainty is not a word that will ever be associated with the Yukon or its twin, the Chevrolet Tahoe. Fresh from a complete overhaul, GMC's super-sized SUV is hitting nearly all the right buttons. Back in 1992, the then new Yukon and revised Blazer (changed to Tahoe in 1995) landed with a resounding "BANG" when General Motors launched them on the market. At that moment, General Motors found instant success with the arrival of the new truck; success that still continues today.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra First Impressions
Friday, November 24, 2006
We're high above the point where the Bay of Fundy runs into the Minas channel and yet, the clifftops of Cape D'or tower over us. Winding down and around the jagged cliffs and thick forest, a rough road resembling a logging trail ends at a ledge that juts out into the Bay. Perched on this ledge, the Lighthouse of Cape D'or overlooks the hauntingly remote panorama of the Fundy shoreline.

2007 GMC Acadia Preview
Friday, October 06, 2006
Crossover SUV sales are booming and GMC wants a piece of the pie. Built on the new Lambda platform, the Acadia will be the twin to Saturn's 2007 Outlook and Buick's 2008 Enclave. Its styling is borrowed from the big GMC SUVs, but fresher and sleeker. In fact, the company says the Acadia is "a great looking vehicle that will attract customers who've never visited a GMC showroom." The low roofline, sculpted wheel arches and jewel-like headlights give it a luxurious appearance. Also worth mentioning are the brushed aluminum roof rails, dual exhaust with chrome tips and 18-inch alloy wheels (19-inch optional).

2007 GMC Acadia announced by GM
Friday, July 14, 2006
The GMC brand is about to enter the fastest-growing vehicle segment in the marketplace with both guns blazing. The 2007 Acadia seats up to 8 and boasts a car-like ride by way of its four-wheel independent suspension. A sophisticated drivetrain and impressive list of standard safety features are intended to impress those entering the SUV market. The Acadia's presence amongst competitors will surely be noticed with its cutting-edge hardware and distinctive styling cues borrowed from larger GMC SUVs. Its fresh and modern lines look original, while a hint of subtle flare should stand to adequately separate it from its competitors.
