2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT-P Review
Sunday, August 08, 2010
No matter how hard I try, I can't help comparing today's Eclipse to the first-generation model. The 1990 Eclipse was light, cheap, fast and easily distinguished itself from the herd of affordable sports coupes during that era.

2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT-P Review
Friday, September 25, 2009
Everything about this car screams power. From its profile straight out of a science fiction movie to its muscular V6 and its stimulating behaviour on the road. Even the impressive rear spoiler gives the impression that at the slightest touch of the gas pedal, retractable wings will spring out of the sides carry this 2+2 away.

2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT-P Review
Saturday, June 20, 2009
I find it amusing that Mitsubishi has a colour on the books called Solar Yellow. A few years ago, no one would consider buying a car with such distinctive paint because all it did was attract attention. I guess stealth is out and peacock bright is in.

Something funny happens when we drive this car. Over the course of this week, we're adding up the plusses and minuses and trying to figure out why we like this car despite scribbling down an admittedly long list of shortcomings.

2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT-P Review (video)
Monday, August 25, 2008
The Mitsubishi Eclipse has always been an exciting and youthful car that dared to be different. It's now bigger and safer than ever--but it's still packed full of the same 'affordable exotic' DNA that's made it a hot commodity throughout many circles. Four- or six-cylinder power is available, as is an automatic or manual transmission and coupe or convertible body styles. Whether it's a miserly ragtop or a rip-roaring coupe you're after, there's an Eclipse that's right for the job.

2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT-P Road Test
Thursday, February 28, 2008
With the looks of a Hot Wheels car, the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT-P is quite the head-turner: sexy, curvy lines that exude power, a very low stance and outrageous tires. Now that's a proud sports car. That being said, the Eclipse remains somewhat of a "halo" vehicle in Canada due to limited sales volumes. In fact, since coming to market in 2006, it primarily aims to attract people into showrooms and make newly-established Mitsubishi more popular with consumers. When you come across an Eclipse, it's impossible not to spot the massive triple-diamond logo on the front grille.

2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT-P Road Test
Sunday, December 02, 2007
The Mitsubishi Eclipse has always had its share of hardcore fans and critics. The new generation, which has been gracing Canadian roads for 2-3 years now, suffers the same fate. Some are attracted by its extremely rounded derriere, while others can't seem to look beyond the fact that the Eclipse arguably borrows many styling cues from other sports coupes, particularly the Nissan 350Z.

Gone is the dash-mounted flower vase in the latest version of Volkswagen's Bug. Gone too is much of its cutesiness, replaced by a notable degree of sportiness intended to broaden the Beetle's target market by attracting male attention.
