A few weeks ago, the Quebec government tabled a Bill that would make inspections mandatory in its Province. This plan reflects to a tee what has and is taking place in other Canadian Provinces. Congress Set to Create Loophole That Allows Wide Public Access to Acquire Clunker Vehicle

With environmentalists recently expressing their strong disappointment regarding the "Cash for Clunkers" compromise legislation, it is not good news to learn that Congress is set to establish a loophole that allows widespread public access for individuals to bid on "clunker" vehicles that are supposed to be retired under the program. The proposal being circulated by House lawmakers would allow salvage auctions to process these vehicles, a dangerous move that opens the door for criminal activity from the resale of the retired cars to the public.

Why winter tires?

Starting today, December 15 2008, it is mandatory for Quebec residents to have winter tires on their cars and light trucks. Actually, it is considered that already some 85% of Quebec residents already have winter tires for their vehicles. But why such a law?

OHTB says Ridesharing is Illegal: PickupPal

According to a Ridesharing program called PickupPal, the Ontario Highway Transportation Board (OHTB) says that it's illegal to Rideshare in Ontario. Ridesharing is a form of carpooling, with shared use of a vehicle by the driver and one or more passengers- usually for the purpose of commuting.

Reminder for winter tires in Quebec

Winter is coming once again, and it's time to start shopping for your winter tires, if you haven't already. We remind you that there's a new law in Quebec that obligates every passenger vehicle to be equipped with winter tires. That includes cars, pickups, SUVs and other vehicles driven by the general population.
