The Resort at Paws Up in Montana: very classy
Thursday, July 21, 2011
I'm in Montana for the next couple of days to drive the redesigned, 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class. Quite frankly, I didn't know what to expect, besides the fact that my colleagues have been to much more glamorous places in recent months: Spain, Germany, France, California. Me? I decide to take the Montana press trip.

These first ever photos of the 2012 Mercedes M-class were snagged in Europe right before the Mercedes engineers made a hasty retreat! Judging from these photos, the new ML's wheelbase seems largely unchanged. In fact, the new M-class might be a few centimeters shorter than today's ML.

2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 BlueTEC 4MATIC Review
Thursday, April 16, 2009
Fans of sport utility vehicles (SUV) now have an opportunity to thumb their nose at environmentalists. As far as I'm concerned, one of the blue stars in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, the 2009 ML320 BlueTEC 4MATIC, is particularly competent and surprisingly efficient.

2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 BlueTEC Review
Sunday, February 01, 2009
I think we can all agree on the need to produce cleaner, more fuel-efficient vehicles. Dissenters may as well stop reading now and go about their wasteful wicked ways. Like me, those who stay will undoubtedly wonder which technology, be it electric, hydrogen, hybrid or diesel will emerge victorious in the war to be the popular choice in the 'green label' war.

2009 Mercedes-Benz M-Class First Impressions (video)
Thursday, July 10, 2008
You don't always have to change everything to give new life to a vehicle. Mercedes-Benz knows it and that's why they slightly revised almost their entire lineup over the last year or so. The ML-Class midsize SUV is no exception, as seen and experienced at the recent BlueTEC event in Vermont. Don't expect significant upgrades. Like many other Mercedes-Benz models, including the new SLK, the 2009 ML benefits from minor improvements only.

2008 Mercedes-Benz ML320 CDI Review
Saturday, June 14, 2008
There is a multitude of SUVs and crossovers available to serve the needs of the motoring public. They range vastly in price, performance and efficiency. At the upper end of the price range sits the mid-size ML from Mercedes-Benz, which was launched in 1998; the present generation of this upscale all-wheel-drive (AWD) rig greeted us in 2006.

2008 Mercedes-Benz ML320 CDI Review
Tuesday, May 27, 2008
It's funny when you think about it : a luxury automaker like Mercedes-Benz is selling expensive vehicles that rely on a diesel engine to help drivers save a few dollars on fuel... It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, but maybe the German manufacturer is onto something: some consumers are willing to pay more for the look and prestige, but for everything else, they want to save every penny they can. The ML320 CDI -- not to mention other diesel-powered Mercedes-Benz products -- directly targets these people.

2008 Mercedes-Benz ML320 CDI Review
Saturday, April 26, 2008
Despite its benefits, North Americans never fell in love with diesel engines the way the Europeans did. That's largely because for decades, diesel engines were inferior to their gas counterparts in terms of noise, smoothness and odour.
For ages, Diesel fuel here was scarcely any cleaner or more refined than lamp-oil. Running this dirty stuff through one of Europe's ultra clean-burning engines would wreck its emissions hardware in a hurry.

2007 Mercedes ML320 CDI Road Test
Monday, December 25, 2006
The Mercedes-Benz ML started something in 1997. Arguably, this was the first real, full-fledged luxury SUV. The first time most of us laid eyes on this truck was while we were watching Jurassic Park at our local movie theatre. This movie was huge: big budget, incredible special effects and, a few examples of Mercedes-Benz' new SUV. I would not go so far as to say that the arrival of the ML was a Jurassic event but close. I no time flat, BMW, Lexus, Cadillac and Infiniti wanted in.

2006 Mercedes ML350 Road Test
Friday, June 24, 2005
Eight years after wowing the Canadian automotive press as a rookie contender in the Automobile Journalist's Association (AJAC) of Canada Car of the Year awards, the Mercedes M-Class is set to do it again. Only this time, the 'car-like' luxury sport utility vehicle segment is no longer a novelty.
In the years since the M-Class was named the AJAC's Car of the Year in 1998, the 'crossover' category, as it has now become known as, has exploded in size, with every manufacturer of note pumping out at least one model. The market segment proved so enticing as to prompt Porsche, till then a sports car company, to jack up its own heritage and design to produce the Cayenne.
