2011 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS Review
Wednesday, March 02, 2011
I love compact SUV's. They offer space, function, utility and a look that is less intimidating than the large utility vehicles you see on the road. This segment is full of well known vehicles like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-9, Chevy Equinox and Hyundai Sante Fe. When most people are cross-shopping, the Mitsubishi Outlander rarely comes to mind.

Ray's sunroof
Sunday, February 06, 2011
I hate sunroofs. Sure, those that know me will say: "Matt, every old dirtbox you've ever owned had a sunroof and rusted and leaked but that was because the cars were old". Perhaps. But I still despise sunroof be they made of metal, glass or cotton candy.

2010 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 4WD Review
Thursday, September 09, 2010
As a crossover, the Mitsubishi Outlander and its numerous competitors owe their snowballing success to a blend of year-round capability, flexibility and family friendliness. As a whole, this species of do-it-all-in-any-weather machinery isn't likely to disappear any time soon.

2010 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 4WD Review
Thursday, August 26, 2010
We believe that the compact SUV category has the potential of becoming the hottest-selling category of vehicles in North America. As people are starting to downsize the SUVs sitting in their driveway and manufacturers are starting to phase out their biggest truck offerings, this category should see constant sales growth in the next few years.

Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, Quebec -- The Mitsubishi Outlander made its Canadian debut in 2003. Four years later, a sleeker second-generation model hit the market. For 2010, the popular crossover receives the brand's signature front fascia and makes a direct connection to the almighty Lancer EVO. Now that's a lot of changes in a short amount of time!

2009 Mitsubishi Outlander LS 4WD Review
Thursday, February 26, 2009
I can't imagine the challenge for someone, who doesn't know much about cars, shopping for one. I consider myself fortunate to know pretty much every detail of most cars, especially ones that will be on my short list when the time will come to trade in the family car. No salesperson can fool me.

2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 4WD Review
Wednesday, June 25, 2008
The first generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander was introduced back in 2003 and, at the time, it was smaller than most other compact SUVs. Styling and performance sure were interesting, but the size issue always seemed to cast a shadow over these qualities. The automaker wrongfully believed that the market could welcome a new segment between small sedans and compact SUVs; as it turned out, the first Outlander never really managed to stand out in the minds of customers.

2003-2006 Mitsubishi Outlander Pre-Owned
Saturday, May 24, 2008
Here's a secret: I'm secretly in love with the 2003 to 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander. A few years back when test-driving the 2006 model, its decent fuel consumption, car-like ride and handling, and flexible, comfortable interior got the better of me. Not a tire-melting monster or even particularly exciting, it's a sensible, comfortable and versatile machine for a family of four or five- and it's way cooler than a minivan.

2008 Mitsubishi Outlander ES 4WD Review
Thursday, May 01, 2008
Some SUV's are hulking mammoths with high-riding suspension and monster V8 engines. These can haul around a heavy trailer and provide a safe and powerful feel- but they can also be hard to park and unexciting to drive while delivering the same fuel efficiency as a refinery fire. If you haven't got heavy-duty hauling needs, you'll find a smaller SUV to offer many of the same benefits as a large one, while delivering a more fun-to-drive character and smaller fuel bills.

2007 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS AWD
Sunday, July 15, 2007
Mitsubishi has firmly established itself as more than just the new kid on the block. As you read these lines, 62 dealerships nationwide are presently in operation. By April of 2008, 13 more will add their names to the list and by April of 2009, Mitsubishi expects to have upwards of 90 concessions selling their products in all of Canada.

2007 Mitsubishi Outlander First Impressions

The name Mitsubishi is pretty much known world-wide as an excellent Japanese car manufacturer. Yet here in Canada, they seem to have been struggling to get the recognition that they deserve.

2007 Mitsubishi Outlander First Impressions

Mitsubishi is crossing its fingers. After several years of financial and technical setbacks, the fourth Japanese automaker is launching a global attack to clean its tarnished image. All this is spearheaded by two new promising models that share many components: the Outlander SUV and the Lancer compact sedan (the latter will be the subject of an upcoming road test).

2007 Mitsubishi Outlander Preview
Wednesday, September 27, 2006
The 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander was a confident, reasonably priced alternative to more common all-wheel-drive machines, and one that catered to the needs of active families seeking reliable and safe transportation all year round. It was roomy, comfortable, well equipped and featured a very car-like ride and handling.

2006 Mitsubishi Outlander Limited AWD Road Test
Tuesday, January 31, 2006
Want a reliable compact SUV? Sure you do. You want the ruggedness and capability that a four wheel drive offers, but don't want a V8 swilling back gasoline like it's the mid sixties again. You'll have little trouble finding one of those mini utes at any local dealership- some carmakers have more than one to choose from. According to sales figures, they're becoming more and more popular, as consumers become more sensitive to fuel costs, and technology makes them more comfortable, user friendly and efficient. But what if you want one which is cheap to drive and doesn't bore you, or your friends or your family? Aaaah, now THAT makes things a little more complicated.

2006 Mitsubishi Outlander Limited AWD (Video Clip)
Saturday, January 14, 2006
I bet you've got a family. Um, two kids, to be exact. And a dog, a big hairy dog. You head out to the grocery store once a week, soccer or hockey practice too early in the morning. You visit the in-laws too often, and you haul the occasional big object to finish renovating that playroom slash entertainment room in the basement.

2005 Mitsubishi Outlander Limited
Saturday, June 25, 2005
Mitsubishi is struggling for dear life at the moment in North America. The reason for this is not because Mitsubishi does not offer the required SUV, compact, sporty or midsize car. Other than the misgivings going on at the head-office in Japan, Mitsubishi offers an honest product. Somehow, it simply has not struck the same cord with the North American public as Honda or Toyota has.

Gone is the dash-mounted flower vase in the latest version of Volkswagen's Bug. Gone too is much of its cutesiness, replaced by a notable degree of sportiness intended to broaden the Beetle's target market by attracting male attention.
