Honda Pilot Touring review - 2011 SUV comparison test
Saturday, September 24, 2011
It's known that Honda has some pretty great products. Throughout the decades, Honda has continued to impress on the road with smaller cars, especially with its Civic. However, when it comes to the Pilot, Honda hasn't quite perfected the mould just yet.

Friday, September 02, 2011
The Honda Pilot, which ranked fifth in our most recent comparo tests, will see its exterior design lightly tweaked, its cabin improved to correct some of the issues we pointed out and its fuel consumption slashed for the 2012 model year.

2011 7-seater SUV comparo match
Wednesday, August 31, 2011
As spring rolled in, our editorial team at the office got some great news: three members of our gang were going to be new, first-time parents. That got us thinking about family vehicles as two of the three began to consider a new set of wheels. Anticipating more kids in the future, the guys and gal came to one unanimous conclusion: No minivans!

2011 Honda Pilot Touring Review
Thursday, May 05, 2011
Honda can, without a doubt, be considered an environmentally friendly car company. Their small cars, the Fit and the Civic, are versatile, fuel-efficient and produce low levels of CO2 emissions. Their hybrid models, the Insight and CR-Z, are extremely efficient. So how can they justify an 8-passenger SUV in their product line-up?

2011 Honda Pilot Touring Review
Tuesday, March 22, 2011
I think of Honda's eight-passenger Pilot as the family and friends' SUV. Many parents rely upon this spacious vehicle to transport kids, both theirs and those of others. Such is the case around my house.

2010 Honda Pilot EX Review
Tuesday, February 02, 2010
Honda's line-up can seem ironic sometimes. On one end, the Fit subcompact maximizes interior space in a small package. On the other end, the Pilot SUV is big inside and out, but manages to feel like a much smaller vehicle.

2010 Honda Pilot Touring Review
Thursday, January 14, 2010
Need to transport up to eight occupants but can't stomach the 'v' word? (That's 'v,' as in van. Of course if it were the other 'v' word, you may not need to transport eight!). Minivans offer a space/usage ratio that's impossible to beat. Unfortunately, these plebian workhorses of the modern family fail to deliver on the recreational front with the same resourcefulness of a four-wheel-drive SUV.

2009 Honda Pilot Touring Review
Sunday, August 02, 2009
It has four-wheel drive and room for eight. It can tow two ATVs or carry a share of your Scout unit's bags on its way to summer camp. Its cabin is nevertheless decked out in leather and entertains back-seat passengers with an audio-video system. I give you the Honda Pilot Touring, a luxurious SUV designed to expand your horizons on a daily basis.

2003 to 2008 Honda Pilot Pre-Owned
Saturday, July 18, 2009
Looking at a machine like the Honda Pilot, it's easy to forget that Honda got their start building small engines, small cars and motorcycles. Pilot takes a place as the largest SUV in Honda's vehicle lineup, and its styling places it solidly as one of the more 'truck-like' sport utilities in its marketplace.

2009 Honda Pilot Touring Review (video)
Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Well that's better, isn't it? Honda's Pilot has recently undergone a much welcomed makeover. It comes after years unchanged as the large SUV from the automaker originally made famous for their small cars. The last Pilot was a conservative rig to say the least-- though it found its way into the driveways of many who bought into Honda's promise of reliable quality. It was the perfect (and only) Honda for those who required a big machine to haul around their family, gear and toys. Despite a plain body and an interior scarcely more exciting than church, it boasted decent mileage, plenty of room and easy, all-weather operation.

2009 Honda Pilot Touring Review
Friday, January 30, 2009
The family van from Honda seems to have grown somewhat. At least is sure
feels that way when you have seating for up to eight and some luggage space
left over. That's only on the inside. When you look at the outside, there are wheel flares that broaden front end and if you walk around to the front there is a grille that is dominated by the Honda "H".

2009 Honda Pilot Touring First Impressions (video)
Friday, June 20, 2008
Member of the mid-size SUV segment since 2003, the Honda Pilot has been totally revamped for 2009. Already available at dealerships across the country, it retains the same truck-like design instead of falling prey to the big crossover mania. The boxy shape of the Pilot is unmistakable; in fact, it's even boxier than the previous generation's.

2008 Honda Pilot SE-L 4WD Review
Sunday, June 01, 2008
The Pilot is Honda's mid-size 8-seat crossover SUV, designed with the North American market in mind. It arrived as a 2003 model, and is available in both front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD). The Pilot's unibody construction has been strengthened with integrated perimeter frame rails to help it endure light-duty off-road hardships.

2009 Honda Pilot Preview
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Honda's popular Pilot SUV struck a chord with the shopper after size and capability blended with economical operation and sensibility. The current-model Pilot will soon be phased out as dealerships clear room for the improved new 2009 model. Slightly longer, wider and taller than the outgoing machine, the new-for-2009 Pilot receives a welcome makeover to help it stand out in a market that's jammed full of increasingly fierce competitors. Honda designers have left Pilot with a distinctive and truck-like character from any angle- as opposed to a more generic jacked up wagon appearance.

2008 Honda Pilot SE Review
Sunday, May 11, 2008
An exceptionally warm early-spring afternoon called for a visit to Nelson Lake- located behind Val Caron, just North of Sudbury, Ontario. The purpose was to meet some friends at a snowmobile trail deep in the woods, and the weapon of choice to get there was Honda's Pilot SE-L. Hitting the trails
My passenger and I set off, warned by a third friend about the terrible condition of Frenchman Lake Road- the gravel passage from Highway 69 North to our destination. Apparently, it was in rough shape. Heavy flooding from the quick spring thaw was compounded by snow banks which trapped melt-water directly over the roads surface. Some sections would be covered in wet glare ice or deep muddy ruts, too.

2008 Honda Pilot SE Review
Monday, March 31, 2008
There are so many SUVs on the market that manufacturers can't afford to stick with the same products for a long time. If a model is not redesigned after 2-3 years or if it does not get regular upgrades, it will quickly fade into oblivion. People seem to forget that the Honda Pilot has been more than a competent truck in its class. However, no major redesign has been made since the model's original introduction in 2003.

Detroit 2008: Honda shows off its Pilot and CR-Z concepts (video)
Sunday, January 13, 2008
The current model Honda Pilot seats up to 8 people and features an acclaimed car-like ride and handling combined with medium-duty off-road capability. It's automatic 4x4 system generates all weather traction to instill confidence in its owners- and the safe and reliable Pilot has won a spot on Car and Driver magazine's "5 Best Truck" awards for the past six years. It's all very sensible and down-to-earth stuff, and the machine looks the part. Not that Pilot isn't a good looking SUV, but it's devoid of any sort of excitement.

2007 Honda Pilot EX-L Navi Road Test
Monday, October 01, 2007
I've just spent a week in a nice SUV. Actually, let me rephrase that slightly... I've just spent a week in a "Nice" SUV. Yes, I have to be honest, in my mind that little four letter word perfectly sums up the Pilot EX-L Navi from Honda.

2007 Honda Pilot LX 2WD Road Test
Friday, January 12, 2007
You read right. For 2007, Honda decided to offer Canadians a two-wheel drive Pilot. And it's front-wheel drive. What? A front-wheel drive mid-size SUV? That can't be. That's stupendous. That's unthinkable. I just had to try it out.

2006 Honda Pilot EX-L NAVI Road Test
Wednesday, August 16, 2006
In a Hemisphere dominated by the availability of SUVs and a declining demand, consumers looking into this category have an impressively vast palette of choices before them. As time goes by and the price of the barrel of oil climbs above $70 USD, those manufacturers that are still invested in SUVs are more than ever feeling the crunch of the waning sales.
