Sunday, May 06, 2012
The Porsche 911 Carrera 4 is the Porsche for Canada. Why? Traction at all four compass points - that's why. Before exploring this week's tester, I want to emphasize the "grip and rip" benefit derived from the distribution of power to all four wheels.

It's 2,000 metres of concrete that twists and turns like a boa constrictor suffocating its prey. The road course at Mission International Raceway is known as an intensive, challenging track that doesn't suffer fools or their machines. Feathering a hair trigger, the utmost in concentration is needed to prevent an accidental shot with calamitous results.

2012 Porsche Camp4 (video)
Tuesday, February 14, 2012
Camp4 sounds like a place you would send your kids to during the summer break. They'd resist, not want to go, say that Timmy is smelly and that they always get stuck with him in the same cabin every year. Eventually, they'd go and have a great time swimming in the lake and roasting marshmallows over a camp fire.

2012 Porsche Cayman R Review (video)
Wednesday, December 28, 2011
Nissan GT-R, Genesis R-Spec, Volvo R-Design, Jaguar XKR, Integra Type R, Mercedes SLR, Golf R, Audi TT RS; the list goes on and on. Why is "R" so rad? Because race car. All kidding aside, "R" is equal to yesterday's GT and SS. In fact and in some cases, it's more because GT is emphasized by an "R". So was SS but that's not a good example...

Audi
Life is good, but you never know when the end will come. Arrogance is a multi-edge sword, one that you can wield as long as there is no harm, no foul. However, claiming that you don't need to attend a media event of national significance because it wouldn't get you any more visibility is pretty short-sighted.

2012 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Review
Sunday, December 04, 2011
A gentleman stopped and asked me about
the 911 Carrera 4 I was driving. He
enquired how long I'd been driving it,
what it cost, and what my
husband/boyfriend did for work to afford
a car like that. I was a bit turned off
by this question. However, after some
discussion, he explained that this was a
car that a female just wouldn't buy.

2012 Porsche Boxster S Black Edition Review
Monday, November 07, 2011
If you think you can't dress up a Porsche, think again. When I was told I was going to be handed the keys to a Porsche Boxster S Black Edition, I was intrigued to say the least. While the Boxster may still be considered the "poor man's Porsche", it's still a Stuttgart offspring with some serious presence on the road, and this special edition roadster is no exception.

Porsche has more 911 Carrera variants than one could shake a stick at, and their latest, the 911 Carrera GTS, intends to cap the range as the sportiest model yet. Without going into the Turbo series or the outrageous GT3 factory race car lineup, the 911 GTS is as athletic as the 911 Carrera gets.

Porsche Cayenne Hybrid vs. Green Rally: A fox in the henhouse?
Wednesday, October 05, 2011
If we asked you to make a list of green vehicles, we're pretty sure very few of you would dare slip an SUV in there. After all, the brutes are generally perceived as the devil incarnate, having carved out an unenviable reputation for themselves over the years.

Don't judge a car by its key fob
Wednesday, October 05, 2011
Generally, the first thing you notice about a car is the way it looks parked at the curb. From the headlights to the rear, you soak it all in and really pass judgement on the car based on those first-look impressions. We're always told not to judge a book by its cover, but last I checked books are hardly as varied and different as cars and I say judge away when it comes to the automotive world.

2011 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet Review
Sunday, August 14, 2011
Perhaps it was the precision of the Porsche's steering or the immediacy of power underfoot, but the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet was a sheer delight on the secondary highways of southwest BC. My 16-year old son and I embraced the opportunity to take this week's tester on an overnight road trip to Savona, B.C. from Vancouver, focusing on routes less traveled. The only criteria: they had to be paved.

Something is amiss in today's car world. Actually, the problem is excess, too much of everything. Back in the day, basic elements such as wheels (5), an engine and perhaps some brakes were all that was needed. Porsche simply happen to wrap it all up in a gorgeous body.

2011 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid Review
Sunday, July 24, 2011
Not only has Porsche overhauled their highly-popular Cayenne SUV for 2011, they developed a full-hybrid version that can quite effectively operate on electricity alone, within set parameters. And because it's a Porsche wearing an 'S' badge, the Cayenne Hybrid delivers un-hybrid-like performance.
