Most powerful Jaguar sedan ever spearheads new S-Type range

Jaguar Canada today announces the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices for its new 2003 S-TYPE sedan range, which goes on sale May 6. Heading up the range is the all-new 400bhp supercharged S-TYPE R model -- the most powerful production car ever to be produced by the Coventry, UK, manufacturer -- priced at $89,950. Price accessibility to the range is addressed by a new 3.0-litre V6 model with 5-speed manual transmission costing an appealing $59,950. Bestseller in the new range is likely to be the 3.0- litre V6 with a new 6-speed automatic transmission for $61,950.

THE JAGUAR S-TYPE, STILL VERY IMPRESSIVE

We have already talked about the S-Type Jaguar a little more than a year ago. But since I had the opportunity to drive it for a few days once again lately, I thought it would be interesting to write another few words on this great car. It still is a great pleasure to drive the recent S-Type Jag. This car, as we now know, was engineered at the same time as the Lincoln LS (since Jaguar is now part of the Ford family of cars) and it is available with a 3.0-litre (Ford) V-6 or a 4.0-litre (Jaguar) V-8. The latter is the engine that powered my test car. The only transmission available is a five-speed automatic that can be operated like a standard shift box.
