2013 Ford Taurus SHO First Impressions
Thursday, March 22, 2012
Let us avoid using the term "all new" when talking about the Taurus for 2013; let's instead concentrate on "redeveloped". My reasoning is that Ford has taken the concept of a five-passenger family car and added a few ideas of its own. The 2013 Ford Taurus will be available in SE, SEL and Limited trim levels as well as the high-performance SHO.

2011 Ford Taurus SHO Review
Wednesday, November 16, 2011
The show ain't over. The Ford Taurus SHO is one of the best known Q-Ships in North America. A Q-Ship is a term that comes from the First World War where a typical-looking merchant ship, well armed, would lure U-Boats to the surface and attempt to sink the submarine with its concealed weapons.

New York 2011: Presenting the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO and its 365 ponies
Wednesday, April 20, 2011
Looking at a Taurus SHO, someone who doesn't know what it's capable of would automatically categorize it as a geezer's car - until it leaps, roaring, to life with the stealth of a cheetah. The surprising sedan has been lightly upgraded for the 2013 model year, namely in terms of engines and design.

Thanks to Ford's MYKEY system, parents can lend their car to their children without worrying about broken stereo systems and dangerous racing manoeuvres, giving families extra peace of mind. 2010 Ford Taurus SHO AWD Track Test
Monday, November 01, 2010
Ford's tweaked-up Taurus SHO has always been more about offering a blend of luxury, performance and technology appropriate for its times-- and less about delivering the sedan world's most gut-wrenching acceleration and handling. For its latest incarnation, it recombines today's latest and greatest hardware and software into a package that does double-duty as a flagship for the brand's EcoBoost engine technology.

2010 Ford Taurus Limited AWD Review
Monday, July 19, 2010
I'm sitting in the stands waiting for the start of Ford Press Conference at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show with some colleagues. We're talking about Ford's products and about how some of them have simply missed their mark; namely, the Five Hundred and Freestyle. Although they were decent vehicles to drive, they lacked more than "je ne sais quoi".

2010 Ford Taurus SHO Review
Friday, May 07, 2010
Okay everyone, those of you who remember what the previous-generation Taurus looks like, raise your hand. No, I'm not talking about the egg-shaped sedan that graced rental fleet parking lots for 10 years. You know, the one that Ford used to call the Five Hundred but was rebadged as a Taurus? What's a Five Hundred, you ask?

Visually, the Ford Taurus SHO doesn't make much of a fuss about its twin-turbo engine, high performance goodies and ultra high-tech gadgets. Of course, enthusiasts who spot the subtle differences often crowd the car in parking lots with questions for its driver.

DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 22, 2009 - Pity the new 2010 Ford Taurus. During the development of Ford's new flagship sedan, it was pelted with rock and frozen, baked and rattled. It was flogged with a steel whip, shot with high-powered rifles and slammed with loaded shopping carts.

2010 Ford Taurus is the Institute's newest 2009 Top Safety Pick award winner
Wednesday, August 05, 2009
The 2010 Ford Taurus, a large family car, is the Institute's newest 2009 Top Safety Pick award winner. To qualify for Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must earn the highest rating of good in the Institute's front, side, and rear tests and be equipped with electronic stability control. Criteria to win are tough because the award is intended to drive continued safety improvements such as top crash test ratings and the rapid addition of electronic stability control, which is standard on the Taurus.

2010 Ford Taurus Preview
Wednesday, March 25, 2009
In 1986, Ford Motor Company created a shockwave in the auto industry with the introduction of the first-generation Taurus midsize sedan. Through the years, however, competitors got increasingly and collectively fiercer and, despite numerous attempts to catch up, the Taurus soon was relegated to vehicle fleets. The latest unsuccessful try involved a rebadged Ford Five Hundred, a car that executives desperately want to forget.

Smashed Ford Taurus shows safety leadership
Monday, March 24, 2008
Normally, carmakers show off their brightest, shiniest and most perfectly detailed models at the New York International Auto Show. But this year, Ford's breaking the rules- and one of their display models will be a former crash-tester that's been smashed to high heavens. Despite crinkled bodywork and deformed sheetmetal, Ford insists this totaled Taurus is a thing of beauty.

2008 Ford Taurus X Limited AWD Review
Wednesday, April 02, 2008
It's never been more confusing to buy a family vehicle. Being assaulted with a list of contenders like minivans, wagons, sedans and SUV's wasn't enough- and now carmakers are throwing something called the 'crossover' into the mix. Like a four-wheeled identity crisis, they combine selected attributes of the above vehicles into a single machine.

2008 Ford Taurus SEL Road Test
Wednesday, February 27, 2008
The Ford Taurus is back... and quite different too. Well, sort of. By christening the replacement to the old Five Hundred with this legendary name, Ford created the largest Taurus ever. But is it the best? The new Taurus can appeal to many different types of customers. First, there are the hardcore fans and purists who know all the ins and outs of this car. If that's your case, you're probably aware that it used to be one of the best-selling, most reliable, low-cost sedans in Ford's entire history.

2008 Ford Taurus X Limited AWD Road Test
Friday, October 19, 2007
I'll obviously start with the name change. Once the Freestyle, this crossover vehicle has battled an identity crisis ever since its launch. Without being unpleasant, the Freestyle's look was rather generic, unexciting, and very anonymous.

2008 Ford Taurus Limited AWD Road Test (video)
Thursday, August 23, 2007
If you're looking at the photo, you probably think you're seeing the new Ford Five Hundred. Close, but no flagship sedan. The Five-Hundred namesake wasn't selling enough units, so Ford decided to leave the three-digit-number cars to Chrysler and bring back a familiar name from years gone by.

2008 Ford Taurus X Preview
Monday, July 02, 2007
Ford has given the Freestyle crossover the same treatment that the Five Hundred got: a new name and a facelift. The Taurus X's new look imitates the Edge's where the front fascia, which itself was inspired by the Fusion, is concerned. The new grille and headlight treatment give the Taurus X more character; this is a welcome change from the blandish ex-Five Hundred-inspired design.

More power and updated styling is on the menu for next year's Five Hundred, now known as the Taurus. Ford has decided to revive the Taurus name in the hopes of improving sales. Given the historical importance of the original Taurus, it just might work.
