Gabriele Tarquini (Seat) clinched 2009 World Touring Car Championship title, today in Macau. The Italian driver was in competition with team mate Yvan Muller, 2008 world champion, who was only two points behind him in provisional classification before Macau. Both drivers were involved in an heavy crash in qualifying, when Muller spun and Tarquini couldn't avoid him and slammed into his car. Both were taken to hospital, but were ok for the race.
