2012 Toyota Yaris Hatchback LE 5-door Review
Sunday, February 05, 2012
The Yaris Hatchback is celebrating 2012 with a comprehensive overhaul. What Toyota once thought as novel turned out to be somewhat of a misstep, especially where the cabin was concerned.

SEMA 2011: Six Toyotas take the show by storm
Tuesday, November 01, 2011
Toyota showed up at this year's edition of the Specialty Equipment Market Association show (SEMA) with six heavily modified machines. From the diminutive Yaris to the Camry to the muscle-bound Tacoma, the automaker's stand is giving other manufacturers a run for their money.

2012 Toyota Yaris Hatchback First Impressions
Friday, October 28, 2011
Toyota has put a new spin on the old adage "don't mess with success" in that the foundation of the Yaris has not changed. For 2012, Toyota will market a basic three-door CE, while the five-door hatchback will come in LE and SE trim.

The next Toyota Yaris? (photos)
Thursday, June 16, 2011
Gas prices often dictate consumer behaviour when it comes to purchasing a new vehicle. Europeans aren't crazy about sub-compacts like the Ford Fiesta and Mazda2 for nothing, after all.

Cops?
Tuesday, June 07, 2011
For nearly two years, I've been cutting through a company's parking lot to avoid going through an intersection light nearly 200 metres out of my way and getting stuck behind a long, stupid line of cars trying to get onto the highway.

2011 Toyota Yaris Sedan Review
Wednesday, April 13, 2011
There's a Yaris for everyone, no matter if you prefer a super-compact yet super-practical hatchback or a more traditional, conservative four-door sedan (because you can't live without a trunk!). Whichever Yaris you choose, expect a highly-efficient, affordable small car that will serve as a nice backup to public transit for your daily commute.

Friday, September 24, 2010
A bunch of rumors are floating around a week before the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The latest comes from Automotive News Europe, which reports that Toyota is set to unveil a new hybrid-powered (gas-electric) subcompact car, namely a Yaris.

2010 Toyota Yaris Hatchback 5-Door RS Review
Wednesday, February 24, 2010
Let's get something straight: it's not because someone drives a subcompact that he or she is flat broke. For some, the automobile is a fashion statement, a status symbol or an extension of one's anatomy, but the rest think that it's merely a means of transportation.

Subcompact Hatchback Comparison Test
Monday, December 14, 2009
In Canada, more specifically Quebec, subcompact cars represent by far one of the most popular market segments. People love their manoeuvrability, European-inspired styling and, obviously, their exceptional fuel economy. In fact, all these criteria are important for small car buyers, who generally prefer function over form.

(TORONTO) - Toyota is committed to continuous improvement and in bringing cutting edge innovation to society, spending over $1 million an hour in global R&D efforts. Toyota's extensive in-house safety research boasts the Higashi-Fuji Technical Center in Japan, one of the world's largest experimental facilities in creating situations close to that of actual driving scenarios, and the recently opened Toyota Technical Center's (TTC) new R&D facility in York Township, Michigan. 2009 Toyota Yaris Hatchback CE Review
Wednesday, July 22, 2009
Save for some minor nose restyling, the Toyota Yaris hasn't undergone much revision for 2009. This entry-level subcompact economy car continues to offer tremendous value and frugality - air conditioning and power windows be damned.

2009 Toyota Yaris Sedan Review
Monday, June 01, 2009
It's not often that a car company is confident enough about its product to send out a base model as the press car. Usually press cars have all the bells and whistles on them, since nearly 80% of consumers buy at the top or close to the top of the model range. My Yaris LE, four door sedan did have one trim package so it really wasn't "bare bones", but the convenience package for the five speed manual gearbox version doesn't add much.

2009 Toyota Yaris Hatchback LE Review
Tuesday, December 16, 2008
Gas prices are rising and falling... and rising again and falling again. Small fuel-efficient cars, or econoboxes, offer a golden opportunity to become immune to this yo-yo. Since 2004, the Toyota Yaris has been dominating the market, easily overtaking such rivals as the Hyundai Accent and Nissan Versa.

2008 Toyota Yaris Sedan Review
Thursday, August 21, 2008
The Yaris sedan doesn't revolutionize any aspect of the drive, be it in style or efficiency. It gaily conveys you from point A to point B without incident. An urban creature first, it doesn't hesitate to venture out on the highway, but beware those side winds. There may be a solution to that, which I'll discuss a little later. The Yaris's shape is neither compelling nor off-putting. It rather has the air of a too-serious teenager: I preferred the curvy Echo. But it does have trunk space. Its cargo capacity will suit a young family or a single person.

2008 Toyota Yaris Hatchback LE 5-door Review
Monday, April 14, 2008
Toyota made a very smart move by introducing the Echo Hatchback in Canada for the 2004 model year. Sales picked up immediately and the Echo, which was also available in sedan configuration, dominated the subcompact category in sales. With the growing number of small cars on the market today, the Yaris is in for a tough battle. Even Ford will soon bring its new Fiesta in Canada. In 2007, though, Toyota moved over 34,000 Yaris units out the door, which is about as much as the Nissan Versa and Honda Fit combined.

2007 Toyota Yaris Sedan Road Test
Thursday, July 13, 2006
There's something peculiar about this car. It's hard to discern, but after a week driving it, I think I've found out what. One thing's for sure, is that the Yaris sedan is better than the Echo it replaces. In fact, it even makes the Corolla seem, well, old and obsolete. So what's wrong with it? Nothing. That's the point.

2006 Toyota Yaris LE 5-door Hatchback Road Test
Friday, April 21, 2006
It was a cold, wet September morning in Barrie, Ontario when I first met the new Toyota Yaris: a Bayou Blue metallic 5-door hatchback in LE trim, the exact model and trim which would reflect the
buying habits of the masses. It also happened to be a lot like the car that is the subject of this review. Despite being the fact that it was humbly introduced in the yard of a local college, where the most scantily clad woman on the premises were wearing sweat shirts and bubble vests, the ...

2006 Toyota Yaris Road Test (Video Clip)
Saturday, February 04, 2006
Gas prices may have come down and stabilized but they will never go back to where they were only 3 years ago. Fuel economy has never really been more discussed than or as important as it is now. Due to this, fuel economic cars are becoming even more desirable.

2006 Toyota Yaris Road Test
Monday, November 21, 2005
Yaris? What's that? You might as well get very familiar with the name now, as you're going to be hearing a lot more about it for a very long time. While other automakers designate their cars with names of mammals, fowl, or fish, places and even people in an effort to conjure up a positive associative image, Toyota often creates all-new names that mean nothing at first, such as Tercel, Corolla, or Camry, but soon
