Etienne Borgeat (Pontiac Solstice) and Tom Kwok (Honda Civic Si) are crowned 2011 Castrol Canadian Touring Car champions.
The last round of the championship was presented on September 11th, at circuit ICAR in Mirabel.
After finishing second in Saturday's race, Étienne Borgeat – who still had not won a race this season – wanted to end the year on a high. He eventually got the job done, getting by race leader Sasha Anis and his Hyundai Genesis in the dying moments of the race.
Behind Anis and Borgeat, Dean Fantin (BMW 330i), Bob Attrel (Hyundai Genesis) and Scott Nicol (Honda Civic) all had their eyes on third place. Just like on Saturday, Fantin made the most of his chances and crossed the finish line ahead of Nicol and Attrel.
In Touring class, Alain Lauzière (Mini Cooper) made it two for two in the weekend. Teammate Michel Sallenbach came home second for the one-two finish. Gary Kwok (Honda Civic Si) had to settle for third.
Tom Kwok, aboard his Honda Civic Si had to retire from the race, following a incident with Paul Dargis' Civic. Nevertheless, it was enough for T. Kwok to capture the Touring class title.
Hyundai won the manufacturers' title in the Super Touring class, while Honda took top honours for the Touring division.
