Nicola De Marco and Jolyon Palmer won both rounds presented at Brno. Palmer took the championship lead back after he briefly lost it on Saturday.
From outside row 1, just behind poleman Dean Stoneman, De Marco had a great start, which allowed hom to take the lead at the first corner. The Italian pulled away in front to take his first Formula 2 win. Stoneman secured second position, and took provisional championship lead, while his rival Jolyon Palmer took 5th position. Sergey Afanasiev secured last podium finish. In race 2, Stoneman again started from pole position. But again, the Brit was not able to keep the lead at the start, as Jolyon Palmer, who started beside him on front row, overtook his rival. Stoneman challenged Palmer in the early laps, but Palmer was able to push a little more to increase the gap. Palmer took another win this season, and took the championship lead back, for only four points. The second part of the season will be tough between the two, who already had a coming together at Brands Hatch.
