Skoda Motorsport ace Jan Kopecky completed back-to-back victories on the IRC series trail by winning the Rally Principe de Asturias. The Czech asphalt ace took a solid victory on the Oviedo-based event from the Peugeots of Nicolas Vouilloz and Kris Meeke. Nicolas Vouilloz, who finished second on the road at the end of the Rally Principe de Asturias, has been hit with a time penalty at the end of the rally. Fourth and fifth places fell to Peugeot drivers – the Benelux entry of Freddy Loix and the privateer car of Corrado Fontana. With Michal Solowow finishing in seventh place, Peugeot claimed five of the eight points-scoring positions to increase its manufacturers’ championship advantage.
