NASCAR driver and team owner Michael Waltrip competes in the Dubai 24 Hour race this weekend. Waltrip said he was interesting in doing more endurance races in the near future.
That what report our friends at www.endurance-info.com who talked to Waltrip after the first practice session in Dubai. Waltrip is driving a AF Corse Ferrari F430 AF Corse alongside MWR co-owner Robert Kauffmann, Marcos Ambrose, Rui Aguas and Nicola Cadei. Waltrip said he would like to race in the 24 Hours of Spa later this year and has his mind set in contesting the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans. "I will be in Le Mans in June to see what it's all about. I badly want to do this race, driving a prototype or a GT car!" There a conflict of dates, the weekend of the Spa race clashing with the Pocono Sprint Cup race. However, Waltrip will not be driving full-time this season, and may well be free to travel to Belgium to contest the 24-hour event. Photos: NASCAR
