Mercedes-Benz and AMG have created a monstrous GT3 race car designed to battle against Audi, BMW and Porsche in endurance racing. The SLS GT3 was recently track test by several drivers on the Hockenheim circuit in Germany. Action!
Several former Grand Prix drivers who now work as commentator for television, such as Marc Surer, Martin Brundle, Ivan Capelli and Ralf Schumacher had the chance to drive the AMG SLS. The car will be sold to privateers for the (astronomical) sum of US 430 000$. The beast is powered by the AMG 6.2-litre V-8 engine. It is capable to accelerate from zero to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds and to reach a stop speed of 300 km/h. Unlike in the standard model, power in the SLS AMG GT3 is transferred by a six-speed racing transmission with sequential gear-changes. The racing model of the SLS has retained the famous gull wings that are so distinctive. Cranck up the volume and enjoy the thrilling sound of the big block V-8 pushed to the limits !
