It is widely expected that Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is on the verge of announcing that veteran driver Oriol Servia is set to join the squad for the upcoming 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series’ season.
We believed that the Spaniard is about to sign with Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl and is on his way to Indianapolis to take part on the official announcement. Oriol Servia had a terrific season in 2011, finishing 4th in the standings for Newman-Haas Racing but lost out his drive when his former squad decided to quit IndyCar.
We know that the 37-year-old was AJ Foyt’s first choice but, as it is often the case, lost out to Mike Conway, who brought sponsorship. Dreyer & Reinbold will be powered by a Lotus/Judd engine and is still looking at running two cars this season. Recent Articles
